    In 2015, Mysty Stewart founded Mysty Stewart Communications, building the business organically through referrals from former colleagues who connected her with brands seeking strategic social media support. What began as a social media–focused practice evolved into an integrated social media and public relations offering, shaped by her deep foundation in PR and long-term brand building.

    We generally work with 5-10 clients at a time, depending on how large the scope of work is on each client. My business is set up so that I can bring on mid to senior level help as needed to fit the needs of each individual client.

    -- First, we schedule a call in which we discuss your goals, needs, budget, and what you already have in place. And of course you get to ask me question about myself and work. -- Next, if we both decide there is a fit, I will put together a proposal that includes scope of work and fee structure. -- Once the scope and fees are agreed to and finalized, I send new clients a contract to sign and set up payment. --On-boarding is a minimum of two weeks per client for both social media and PR clients. For social media clients, this is the time that I gain access to your social media accounts, review and update any existing strategies that may exist, gain access to creative assets, set clients up on my software if needed, meet any additional team members I will be working with, and create an calendar for client review. Sometimes this process is less than two weeks, but it's best to assume two weeks. For PR clients, this is the time in which I review and update any existing PR documents, gain access to media photos and assets that I might need for upcoming pitches, meet any additional team members I will be working with, write the first pitch and create the media list for the first pitch. This way, day one of the third week, I hit the ground running pitching to the media.

    I provide many options for collaboration with my clients, but primarily I seek to be an extension of your team vs. "just a contractor." I prefer to meet with my clients at least once per month to make sure we are all on same page and catch up on any company happenings that could impact my work. If there are company meetings in which my attendance is desired, I'm happy to be a part of those meetings as needed. Additionally, I am available via email M-F during business hours, and phone/text for urgent situations. Lastly, if the client is interested I can set them up on my Slack account so that communication doesn't always need to be done via email. The software I use to work with clients varies from client to client as some clients have more infrastructure in place than others. For those that do not have systems already in place I can provide software solutions, Google Docs, etc. that streamline our work together.

    All deadlines are discussed within the scope of work before a client signs with us. For example, for clients that want to approve their social media posts in advance, we would set a monthly date in which the content would be available for review, typically 10 days before the start of the next month. We work with our PR clients to set up a monthly calendar of pitches that is often time based and seasonal.

    For my social media clients, I use a analytics platform that captures social media data to help us review our efforts and modify as needed. Reports are either monthly or quarterly, and is based on what package the client selects. For my PR clients, I track media hits, mentions, and wins, and compile them quarterly for client review. That said, I do keep a running list of who I reached out to and what media leads are active, so that can be reviewed monthly if the client is so inclined.
