Introduce your business and what you do there.

My brother and I are the co-owners. We started off as a family business and are basically a retailer of home decor focusing on carpets, drapes, and other home accessories. We've been in business for almost 35 years now, and we mainly cater to the Balkan region in the coastal area — we also sell regional and throughout Eastern Europe.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Mounter.io?

We wanted to update our web page. We had the web page, which was very primitive, so to say, and frankly, we neglected it for quite a while. We then hired Mounter.io to update our web page and our e-commerce platform. As we saw demand growing in the online retail industry, we thought to jump right in and that's why we hired Monter.io.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, we had engaged them for the webpage, but there turned out to be a lot more. As a result of the process, they did a lot of animations and designed materials for us. Whenever we had to shoot a commercial or if we wanted an animation that we needed for an app, we contacted them since we were happy with the services they were providing. Initially, they set up a team of animators, designers, and programmers who would be dedicated to us as well as a manager for our project, and we referred to them very frequently. 

Our office is predominantly to work out and cash out everything since this is a niche industry, and some details mostly on the e-commerce side had to be catered by them rather than just a cookie-cutter e-commerce web page.

In terms of design and animation, they used all the current technology and systems, like Photoshop and 3DS Max. For the webpage, I know they kept mentioning something along the lines of Webflow, but I'm not sure about that.

What is the team composition?

There were at least four to five, I want to say, designers, animators, web developers, and a project manager. In total, that would be around six or seven. Depending on the intensity, we would get a different number of people each time.

How did you come to work with Mounter.io?

We initially sent out proposals to a few firms and met with 2–3 of them, but neither really stood out. We hired Mounter.io because of the dedication to every project that they had, and the dedication that they were going to give to our project. Also, the price that they gave us was very reasonable for the dedication that they were offering.

How much have you invested with them?

In total, I believe the costs ran around €5,000–€6,000 EUR (approximately $5,900–$7,100 USD) — we probably invested a little more, but nothing over $8,000. We had a lot of work we were doing at that time such as different animations and designs, so it wasn't just one thing.

What is the status of this engagement?

I believe we started working with them sometime in October of 2019, and the project finished at the start of April 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The web page is on and is currently running really well. We got a lot of positive feedback but unfortunately, our end goal was not reached, although it’s not Mounter.io’s fault — it’s mainly because of the industry we're in. People still want to see and physically touch carpets rather than buy them online. Even though we still get online orders, we don't have as many of them as we initially hoped. However, we still see the results of their work because a lot of people access the web page to see and to view our catalog electronically.

How did Mounter.io perform from a project management standpoint?

We had a lot of back and forth contact with the project manager. We met every 4–5 days to discuss everything, to make sure that we were on the same page with them. Whenever there was an update, they were very accommodating in terms of meeting with us. If we had to travel somewhere else, they would cater for that and everything. It was very easy to work with them because we didn't have to deviate from our daily work to go on with this project — they were very professional.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I believe the best thing about working with them was their professionalism. We had worked with other creative and tech companies before, but none of them were as professional as Mounter.io. The rest of them were not that consistent in transmitting the results or their feedback, but Mounter.io had a very consistent and streamlined mode of communication and delivery.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not really, to be honest. Given the industry, we weren't able to really boost our online sales, but when we talked to other retailers around the region who we cooperate with, they have the same problem, so it’s not a problem with the web page or of the implementation of the project. It's mostly a cultural and industry-specific problem.

Any advice for potential customers?

I think in order to get the most out of working with them, you have to be very, very communicative and make sure that your ideas and your needs come across because if you don't, they might not get your project or whatever you're trying to achieve. As long as you make sure that you get your issues across, you shouldn't have a problem with trusting Mounter.io.

I work for a company called Ads-insight, a new consulting company based in Brussels. We’re a 12-member team, and I’ve been the office manager for almost a year.

What challenge were you trying to address with Mounter.io?

We wanted Mounter.io to help us promote three of our colleagues who were recently announced in a journal as three of the best consultants in Brussels. The awardees are our managing director, associate director, and senior consultant. We also needed to have a nice page to advertise Ads-insight.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?
 
Mounter.io helped us promote these awards by working on the creative design, layout, and arrangement of the announcement following the rules of the digital journal. We gave them some direction and provided them with the logos and pictures to use. They made the arrangements, and we got the main page of our company in the journal.

How did you come to work with Mounter.io?
 
They were a strongly recommended referral from the consultants' journal. I believe they worked with them last year. 

What is the status of this engagement?
 
We called them in December 2020 and worked with them until February 2021. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I know our team was really happy with the layout and the visuals made. Our managing director was happy with the results, but I don’t have any statistics.

How did Mounter.io perform from a project management standpoint?

We exchanged emails about our needs and what we wanted the visuals to look like. Our communication was pretty straightforward, and they really understood my request.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were very happy with Mounteri.io’s services. They were nice, reactive, quick, and responsive. Their biggest highlight was the final results.

Are there any areas they could improve?

One small detail was that not all my colleagues nor myself are native English speakers, but neither are they. When I sent them the wording, I misspelled something and they didn’t correct it, but it was just a small thing.

Any advice for potential customers?

Have a clear vision of your project, and give them a little bit of freedom. After all, they are a creative agency, and it’s good to trust them. In our case, since it was a limited project with restricted guidelines, they couldn’t be as creative, but if you have a company that wants to hire them for a website or something similar, they could probably show their full potential.
