Scope was to refresh the full content library for InterContinental Wellington, an IHG Hotel. This included updating photography across all room types, all service offerings and businesses within the hotel from spa to gym to bars and restaurants, health club and Executive lounge. Also included lifestyle photography of multiple models to illustrate the customer journey. The shoot took place at the hotel, outside of it and across the city.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Increased Direct Bookings:

A big part of the photoshoot was that it was part of a larger project to build out the hotel's online presence with a localised website to drive direct bookings.

Photo and video content from the shoot drove a significant increase in engagement across Instagram and Facebook.

Photography provided excellent positioning for the hotel in a city with high competition. It also helped us stand out across our marketing in all channels.

Incredible. I worked predominantly with Q in the lead-up to the shoot and then both Justin and Q on the actual shooting days (a 10-day shoot). Q ensured everything was prepared before they arrived, making the shooting process significantly smoother and raising the bar for what we were able to achieve. 

Their operational excellence resulted in the photoshoot being a great success.

All deliverables were on time, as were additional edits (preferential). They were highly responsive to any and all requests we sent through, whether it was a simple question or complex.

Two points stand out:

Their level of experience and professionalism with pre-planning and general organisation means they are able to prepare me (the client) ahead of time to ensure excellent results. 

Secondly, the creativity of Justin during his actual shooting produced such unique and top-tier photography.

These points combined meant that I was in very safe hands as a client in terms of achieving all of my project goals.

And definitely wish to work with them again!

Mott Visuals was hired for a series of video projects for Vietnam Tourism Board over the course of four years. The team did all preproduction, production and post-production for the My Vietnam video series, the Vietnam NOW video series, the Crafts of Vietnam series and a food cooking series, as well as other standalone videos.

Each video series received several million views online. The feedback from investors, government, industry and travelers was extremely positive. The videos were screened at international events such as World Expo Dubai 2020 and WTM London.

Mott Visuals' team always delivered the work on time and were very responsive and proactive about timelines. They communicated clearly the costs of the work and adjusted to meet our unique requests. We had a great line of communication to the producers and production team, and were able to collaborate on each aspect of the work.

I did not work directly or indirectly with Justin on this project, so I cannot speak to collaborations with him as the lead. Quynh and the team who went on the shoots were amazing partners, and we would not change anything about our experience with them.

The high-quality images and video that Mott Visuals created played a critical role in the successful launch of InterContinental Hayman Island Resort in 2019. The best-in-class content helped to drive strong media coverage and generated increased interest and bookings across all owned channels. The thoughtful, beautiful content created by Mott Visuals significantly elevated the resort’s brand presence globally.

What challenge were you trying to address with Mott Visuals | Vietnam Production House?

We hired Mott Visuals to be our production partner in Vietnam. We entrusted a very important client to them, and their objective was to run a detailed but streamlined production while clearly communicating with us every step of the way.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of work done?

Mott Visuals produced a two-day photoshoot for us in two different factories in Vietnam. They were responsible for taking care of our US crew and clients during production hours, as well as after-hours dining and transportation. They hired all local production and technical crew and equipment. Their responsibilities included helping obtain any required government paperwork and securing talent releases on behalf of our client. The goal was that our clients and crew were able to capture great imagery and left Vietnam feeling happy and well taken care of.

We had direct contact with two team members.

How did you come to work with Mott Visuals | Vietnam Production House?

I was referred to Mott Visuals by a photographer. We chose them for a few reasons. I trusted the person who gave me the referral. Our initial communications with them were very easy. They were great communicators and very professional. They had done similar projects to ours and were comfortable with the particular requirements of the job.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from April–June 2024. The project finished shooting in May 2024 and was completed in June 2024.

Our clients and photographer were happy, and the job was on budget. They wrote to us and let us know what a wonderful production Mott Visuals provided, as well as how much they enjoyed the trip, feeling well taken care of and looked after by the very personable Mott team.

The key challenges were the availability of locations and the ability to schedule challenging shoot days with too much to accomplish in too little time. Mott Visuals was able to create a very workable shooting schedule by negotiating with the locations and building our shoot days in a very efficient manner.

It was a great experience on every level. They were invested in the success of the project at every stage. They delivered on time and on budget.

Second, their problem-solving skills were exceptional.

The Mott team demonstrated great flexibility in adapting to different situations and did their best to accommodate all of our requests. Their ability to respond quickly and effectively to challenges made a big difference.
