I’m the VP of a full-service advertising agency. We’re based in Houston.

What challenge were you trying to address with Moffett Productions?

We’re a full-service agency, so we like to serve as a one-stop-shop for our clients. Video production is one of the few items that we lack the internal resources for, so we rely on Moffett Productions to provide this service.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Moffett Productions has served as our video production partner over the course of our ongoing partnership. They produce videos that can be used for social media and branding. They do photoshoots, short videos, long videos, and everything in between.

They sometimes interact directly with the client to understand their goals and requirements. More often, though, we usually give them some direction as to what we’re looking for.

What is the team composition?

I work primarily with Chris (President), but since they’ve grown, I’ve also worked with Joe (Creative Director). I know that they have a larger team behind them.

How did you come to work with Moffett Productions?

While I forgot how I met them, I was attracted to them because of their extreme creativity. Their resources allow us to tackle projects of all sizes.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent somewhere between $250,000–$999,999. The projects we’ve executed over the years have varied in size. They can be between $1,500 to $30,000 each, and we work on around 4–5 projects per month.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our partnership kicked off in August 2011, and we continue to rely on them very frequently. We’re currently working on four different projects with them.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The longevity of our relationship is a testament to their skill and success. Most of the videos they create are posted on social media, and they enjoy high rates of public engagement.

How did Moffett Productions perform from a project management standpoint?

I’ve never had an issue with them on this front. I can reach them at any time via email or text.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re young guys who are ready to grow, just like ourselves.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not really. At one point, Chris and I had to restructure our project management style, so that smaller projects would be tackled faster, by different teammates. We made it so that our work got distributed more effectively. Their leadership would then be available to take on some of the larger projects.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You pay for what you get. In the digital world, anybody can claim to be a videographer, but true talent is different. There are a lot of people who’ll try to undercut the market, but I encourage you to pay more for better results. With Moffett Productions, you get extremely high quality.

What challenge were you trying to address with Moffett Productions?

We’ve worked with them to come up with a marketing campaign to promote our brand and direct traffic to our website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They handle everything from start to finish for the videos. They come up with the concept, write the creative, source the talent, do the production, and get all of our spots ready to broadcast. The commercials include live-action, graphics, and animations. 

They range from 30-second traditional spots to corporate videos to social media videos. We do big production projects every 18 months with them, and smaller projects almost monthly. 

What is the team composition?

I typically work with Joe (Creative Director), Chris (President), and Jeff (Vice President). 

How did you come to work with Moffett Productions?

We were working with their father before they took over the business, so we had a longstanding relationship with their company. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since 2005 and our engagement is ongoing. We have a monthly retainer.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Looking at how we perform in the market and the impact our creative has had, it’s done exceptionally well. Through the third party research project we do, we’ve used that data to continually improve the concepts with them, too. 

How did Moffett Productions perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re very open to ideas and receiving constructive feedback. When we share the results of the research projects, they take our suggestions and do a good job of weaving it into the next creative execution they do. When we’re working on a new project, we have quite a few meetings in person and on the phone. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very creative and stay within budget, so it’s a great value for what we receive. They’ve been a great partner of ours.

No, there’s nothing.

Make sure you set your expectations and timelines. Set up a process with open communication.

Please describe your company and your position there.

Fountain Forward is a marketing agency with offices in Houston, Texas. Our unique, data-driven approach, combined with candor and caring, allows us to not only understand what makes our clients successful, but increase that success. As head creative director I oversee our clients brands, messaging and content creation. This could include heading up a full TV commercial shoot, brand strategy for a new business, or even directing a simple social media campaign to ensure consistent messaging and creative visuals to our client's customers. At all points I want to ensure our content and creative tactics are solving a problem, or filling a need and delivering it in the best way for that target audience.

For what projects/services did your company hire Moffett Productions?

Help write scripts, formalize shoot/video concepts, shoot the video, and than edit the videos.

What were your goals for this project?

To create several videos for social media and youtube pre-roll for a local car dealership that reach the Subaru buyer, adds some humor, and helps them stand out from their competition in the market.

Previous projects, and on-going relationship. They've always done great work for us.

We came to Moffett with our goal, and needed outcome then we worked together on creative concepts for the video.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

We worked through zen desk their ticket platform as well as various meetings.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We created 6 concepts that hit our target, achieved our goal and our client was very happy.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective as always. We communicate well, share ideas, and work to hit the clients goal.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They deliver on set and shoot days like no one else. The day of the shoot everything is well organized, well planned, and they work well with any talent regardless of age or experience to get them to deliver.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Hitting post-production deadlines previously outlined.
