I'm the Publicity Manager at a professional lighting manufacturer.

For what projects/services did your company hire Ministry of Motion ltd, and what were your goals?

We were launching a new luminaire system which was different to anything else in the market so we called upon Ministry of Motion to create a set of installation animations.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Ministry of Motion are a local company and after an initial meeting to discuss our requirements, it was clear our ideas for the animations were aligned.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and marking tools used.

First, we discussed the type of animation we required, whether we required 2D or 3D etc. This was followed by the creation of a storyboard which went through a development process. Once we were happy with the process, work began on the animation which was presented back to us in simple form, and once we were happy with the content, final textures were applied.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We worked direct with Andy, the animator.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The resulting animations very effectively allowed us to show how the new lighting system worked. As the videos were so informative and professional, they were even used in the front end marketing which wasn't in the initial plan.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The communication was superb. Deadlines were set for each stage of the process and were always met.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The communication and clarity provided at every stage gave us total confidence we would get the results we desired.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not really. We were happy with the service they provided.

I’m the CEO of Maths Circle. We provide education platforms for children to practice math. We’re based in the UK.

What challenge were you trying to address with Ministry of Motion ltd?

We had a new math game to launch. We wanted to make it more interesting for children, so we wanted to have an animation video with music, words, and moving characters to put straight into the app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, we reached out to Ministry of Motion ltd and showed them what we wanted. They provided a quote, which we thought was good value. We discussed further what the animation would look like and sent them all the illustration assets and audio files. They went away, worked on it for a while, and sent the first draft.

After they sent the first draft, we sent back some comments. They made those alterations and sent a final version. Then, they made a second version for mobile. The animation included voice, music, sounds, and motion.

What is the team composition?

We worked directly with Andy (Creative Director), and he had somebody working with him.

How did you come to work with Ministry of Motion ltd?

We knew they had a good reputation, so we reached out to them. We were impressed by the initial communication and responsiveness. Also, they seemed to understand well our idea and vision for the animation.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent more than $5,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from January–June 2019 on the project. However, we’ve continued to work with them since that initial engagement.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The animation is embedded into the app. It’s the first animation that all children see, and it’s very popular. They love watching it, and teachers have told us that it’s engaging for the children. Additionally, we’ve published it on YouTube.

How did Ministry of Motion ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

They were excellent; they were always on time. They were also helpful and quick to respond. If we had suggestions for edits, they were quick to make them and get back to us. One time, we needed a file in a different resolution, and they quickly saved it again at a different frame rate and sent it back.

We mainly communicated by email, but we also did 1–2 phone calls. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were experts in animation; the team added a lot of their own ingenuity and creativity. It wasn’t only our initial idea; their design and creativity were on top to create a better result. They saw our vision, but they made it even better.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we were very happy. We’d recommend them to anyone else.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

When working with any creative organization, you need to be clear on what you’re looking for and have ready the assets they need for their job.

I'm the Creative Director of Clarity, a strategic brand and communications agency, creating high impact, emotive and engaging creative content for our brand partners globally.

The team at Ministry have supported our projects over many years, and were engaged this year to support our work for a new client partner in North America.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We have a select number of external video and animation partners that support our clients projects of which the team at MoM are our first port of call. They get to grips with our creative intent quickly and produce outputs of a quality that befits our work and the brands that we serve.

Having taken a client brief and produced our initial storyboards, we engage the team to consider the creative direction and to translate our vision into a initial animated draft for our input and approval.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We've worked with people from across the team, but will often speak with Andy at the outset of the project to get the benefit of his experience and knowledge on approach and budget.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The recurring projects we receive as a result of the quality of our animated projects is testament to the quality of their work. We're currently delivering the 6th in a series of emotive, educational videos for a large US retail client as a result of the excellent work of the team and the confidence that instilled in our client.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Always accessible and flexible, we find the team incredibly responsive, which in our deadline driven environment is critical. So from initial enquiry and provision of a storyboard, the team provide a transparent estimate, typically within 24 hours. Combining quality with speed, they help us to delight our clients on every project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

As the team has grown, we've continued to receive that personal, timely and approachable service that we've enjoyed since day one. There versatility is also second to none, able to easily adapt to the specific styles of our clients and projects.

No. We're very happy with the teams service, professionalism and creativity.
