I am a software engineer with over 25 years of experience building scalable, high-performance web sites. My passion has always been development using tools such as PHP, Python, Perl, MySQL, Oracle, and Apache. For ten years, I served as Co-founder and CTO of Sickweather, Inc. During that time, I was responsible for the vision and execution of our entire IT infrastructure, which included our highly-scalable commercial REST API, data science teams, pubic and private APIs, and database farm. Our Sickweather REST API was able to collect and disseminate data to and from a number of third-party sources, and was able to sustain around the clock traffic of 30,000 concurrent hits per second.

I have worked on a number of high-profile public projects such as back-end development for Educate.com, Nature.com, and LoanOfficer.com, sites for National Institute of Health and Johns Hopkins University, and intranets for Honda, Acura, BMW, Audi, Mini, as well as boutique sites for several privately owned businesses. I have been a featured speaker at several technology events, including Ernst & Young's 2012 Life Sciences Summit.
