Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the director and founder of Pacific Dove LTD a women's clothing and accessories boutique. I run every aspect of the company including the website and online sales.

For continuous hosting of my current e-commerce website and emails, along with any website changes and development requested.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

By chance i met Matt due to similar private hobbies. He mentioned he did web design in conversation when i was actively looking for a new website host. Due to his seemingly kind nature and small amount but good reviews i decided to go with Matt and his company. I am also (as a small business owner myself) keen to help and work with other small businesses rather than larger companies.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

Initially Matt was to move the hosting of my website and emails to his servers for the continuous smooth running of my site. Next on the agenda was for Matt to do a couple of small edits to my current website. This included adding colour swatches to my website theme and also changing my current card payment providers to some more current payment systems such as apple pay. After this it was simply to provide ongoing hosting and maintenance of the website.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

The only person i worked with was Mr Matt Meir himself.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Sadly i cannot give any positive outcomes with progress or success as sadly the project was neither executed well or completed. This included many factors but the main issues were due to the time frame it was taking to complete any initial works and host transfers, the lack of communication and sadly many dishonest statements by Matt, then the sudden full loss of my website whilst in Matts care.

This project became a twelve week nightmare in trying to get my website back and to a functioning standard in a timely manner. Sadly this did not happen due to severe lack of time management and lack of professionalism. By the end of the twelve weeks Matt was barely responding to emails, he was putting off sending me any links for me to view any progress of the website.

When he finally did, there was about one hours worth of work (judged by another web designer) that looked vaguely like my old landing page. This was completely unacceptable and i pulled from the project and sought legal advise.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

As mentioned in the previous question, there were an extreme amount of issues with time management and work flow. When a dispute was raised and a request for a refund from this company was asked for, Matt even changed his policies to try and match with the correspondence he was sending me. Luckily i had evidence of the policies before he made the changes and yet he still attempted to say he hadn't changed them.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I wanted to support a local entrepreneur but sadly i trusted the wrong company.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Taking some responsibility for their actions and the distress they have caused would be a start. But sadly i have no words for the improvement that needs to be made with this company.

Matt works on his own sometimes outsourcing certain parts of a large project.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Matt's design allowed me to launch my business and attrackt clients in a professional manner.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Matt is very organized and efficient. Everything concluded on time and as discussed.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I had several poor experiences in the past with web designers taking a very long time, not communicating or getting the project finished. Matt is the first designer that did the exact opposite. Matt was prompt, professional and a great communicator despite our time difference ( U.S. - England ).

Are there any areas for improvement?

Not that I can think of.
