Pricepoint was a barrier when I first started; it prevented me from starting 6 months prior to actually doing so. If there was a halfway point with half the amount of their time on the account, it would have been easier for me to convert. I'm now someone who trusts Megaphone with what is essentially my livelihood, and wouldn't hesitate to spend more money with them if it meant more results.

I’m the owner and director of CORE FOUNDATIONS PERSONAL TRAINING. We’re an appointment-only personal training business in Melbourne, Australia.

What challenge were you trying to address with Megaphone Marketing?
We wanted to increase our advertising and reach to grow our business. We’d been using another service provider, but they let us down with their service during the COVID-19 pandemic. We hit a roadblock because we were closed for 5–7 months.
After several months off from doing advertising, our goal was to double the business in the next two years. Therefore, we were looking for a local marketing team that could help us cultivate our message and be our long-term partner.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Megaphone Marketing manages our advertising on Facebook and Instagram. We have full-time marketing programs and a monthly marketing spend guaranteed for different types of ads about the various services we offer. They've also worked on SEO and helped us build 1–2 emails that go out to our regular client base each month.
What is the team composition?
We typically deal with an account manager; he’s our main point of contact.
How did you come to work with Megaphone Marketing?
When we wanted to get back to advertising, we sat down and looked online at major agencies that popped up on the most significant Google rankings and reviews in Melbourne. We sent a pitch deck to all of them with what we were trying to do and where we were going. We got 3–4 service providers to pitch us why they were the best.
Our initial contact with Megaphone Marketing was with one of their sales executives. They presented the structure of how they’d help our business, but we mainly liked the enthusiasm and general excitement they had for our project. They were interested in working with us even though we were a smaller client for them.

We spend about $70,000 annually.

We started working with them in March 2021, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve gotten good results and seen about a 184% increase in lead generation per month since we’ve run the program. The quality of leads is higher than anything else we’ve ever used, and we have a greater conversion rate based on the leads. Overall, the leads have contributed to our business, which has grown by 50% this year alone.
How did Megaphone Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?
Megaphone Marketing’s team has been incredibly helpful and diligent; they’ve even come to our facility to visit us and go through our process to understand why we’re different. We’ve pushed them pretty hard to meet deadlines, but they’ve been accommodating and transparent. The team is honest if there’s something that will take longer or they can’t do.
We have internal management software to track leads, inquiries, conversions, and so on. They also provide basic metrics about lead generation, and everything is fed into our customized system.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their professionalism, honesty, and follow-up are excellent. We get results quickly and are never left waiting. Overall, nothing seems to be difficult, so our experience has been great so far.

Nothing comes to mind; I don’t think there’s an actual shortfall.

Don’t rely on them to do all the work. You must know your business and understand your metrics' meaning and why they’re important. In summary, you should have all the tools to manage your business.

Our final month with them saw our sales plummet by 80% on the previous year. They have killed our US business. They kept promising the world, but they were useless.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
It was fine. But I never found them that creative. We had to drive things constantly.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Very little. They have lots of pretty graphs but when you look behind the graphs, the results were terrible. They liked to compare this month with last month but we have a cyclical business and so we need to compare this month with the same month last year. When you did that, you quickly saw their results were pathetic.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Everything. Dedicated account managers that don’t change all the time. Actually get to know the product and market it without gimmicks. We never wanted to run continual sales and all they could do was pressure us to run a sale or some kind of “extra offer” so someone would buy our product.

We have weekly or fortnightly meetings and a detailed monthly report. What I love is that once everything is set up from the business owner's side, it's set and forget, so you can focus on your business and not spend days figuring out the Facebook algorithm!

They really know how to work the facebook algorithms to our advantage and get value for money. The spend goes far.

Not really. My only suggestion would be for Megaphone to setup an influencer network that they could utilize across their client base to produce more UGC content. That would be more of a side business I guess.

incredibly effective, i probably spend less than an hour with them a week and the ads they push are incredibly efficient. I'm amazed it's even possible to be so hands-off in marketing as a business owner. Megaphone Marketing really does provide a service one cannot complain about.

We needed someone to run paid social media advertisements across Facebook and Instagram to help increase our reach.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We were on the search for an agency that would be able to help schedule and run ads, while also offering excellent communication and meeting flexibility due to the wide range of shoes we sell, and the need to update ads according to new stock. We knew of another business using Megaphone who pointed us in the right direction which we were thankful for!

We have been working with Megaphone for ongoing social media advertising and are constantly updating the campaigns based on upcoming sales and promotions as well as new stock arrivals ect. We can either email our account manage or set up a quick meeting to discuss our next campaign we want to focus on. We just send through the links to the products we want to promote and Megaphone do the rest!
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We have had a few account managers over the years but currently work with one account manager and a executive marketing strategist, as well as a google specialist.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Our return of investment on average continues to grow each month at a steady rate. As a business that is relatively new to being online, Megaphone has helped us grow at a rapid pace with now 17k followers on Instagram and 15.5k on Facebook.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We work together great as Megaphone have flexibility for meetings whether it be short notice or to plan regular meetings in advance. They are always quick to respond to our emails and update collections. We feel comfortable enough to converse our ideas and get our creative juices flowing.

I was split testing marketing agencies and I came to Megaphone as I personally get their ads a lot. After speaking to 7 agencies I chose them due to their fast responses, incredible initiative in researching my brand and their overall work ethics.

I wanted them to launch and manage Google Ads for me, something our brand has never done before. I had no idea what to do or what to expect. Megaphone made the process simple by showing me step by step instructions to connect them to my google accounts and they just did their own analysing and set up ads from there.

VERY! Their seamless workflow meant I only needed to really spend 2 hours a week maximum with their team, some weeks, less!

Their drive to be a better version of themselves each day. They don't just settle on good results, they actively find ways to drive even better results week on week.

would love to have seen them gradually including other designs from my brands (not jut the best sellers) just so when we're sold out at least it doesn't affect revenue too much, but overall still happy as they have unlocked the potential in our best sellers.

EVERYTHING WAS LATE, They did not even read the brief, got everything wrong to the point of thinking we were something entirely different. Took almost 8 weeks to be told OH SORRY, WE CAN'T REALLY DELIVER CALL BOOKINGS TO YOU, WE ONLY PROMOTE A FREE THING AND GET YOU CONTACTS, and with 3 emails after it, after Lauren expressly ensured me on the sales call where I commited up to $10,000 adspend monthly and almost $5000 a month. They wanted more control of the funnel so calls would not give them that SO THEY CANCELLED THE CONTRACT AFTER AMOST 8 WEEKS. In that 8 weeks, they did not maintain the ads as promised, they gave me a new person and people who did not listen.
Then when it got too hard for them, Said oh sorry, we can't give you what we want, we only do it this way, which is so primitive. If you sell widgets, they will be good for you but if you sell a service, stay away as I lost 6 months of revenue due to this because what we get in an 8 week period, can determine 6 months of income due to what didn't happen in that period, and what it will take to replace them etc.

HORRIBLE they didn't read ANYTHING so it was useless.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
NOTHING!!!! POORLY MANAGED, INEXPERIENCED, DON'T EVEN HAVE THEIR OWN TARGET MARKET RIGHT, HOW COULD THEY GET THE TARGET MARKET OF OTHERS RIGHT THEN. STAY AWAY FROM THEM IS ALL I CAN SAY.
