• Brand onboarding: Now we have a decent Shopify app build and submitted it for approval. This app is built on Laravel. We need help with onboarding multiple brands. This involved

  • Minor App enhancements specific to a brand 
• Product development: Other features need to be added as part of app development. This involves some issues like SSO with Shopify and other checkout players. This also includes NFRs like performance improvement, security, and data integration.

They have already built 15-20 Shopify stores for us and many more are in the pipeline. In addition, they have been guiding us on the product roadmap as well.

A client wanted to modify the functionality of the "on sale - out of stock" badge feature on the "GRID" theme for their Shopify store. We approached Marmeto for the development needs of this client. Our basic goal was to get the color and text of the badge changed.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Marmeto comes highly recommended from our peers. After some due diligence, once our client read the "Client Stories" on Marmeto's website, they were eager to go ahead as well.

We wanted to get the color and text on the existing on-sale badged changed. As such, we mentioned this pain point to the Marmeto team. Their experienced team stepped in and designed an entire solution for the badge functionality. The solution enables us to show / hide the on sale / out of stock badges as per our choice. It also let's us change the badge color for the two badges separately. It further let's us edit the text, thereby letting us communicate a 100% authentically in the brands voice. This feature was built for the Shopify website.

We gave our requirements to the sales team. The next day we received a prompt proposal with cost & timelines. Upon mutual agreement on the same, the onboarding team got in touch for the project kickstart immediately. We worked with 2 people (one from sales and the other from account management).

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

1. The client was very impressed with Marmeto's solutioning capabilities.
2. The operational aspect of the problem is very well taken care of, enabling the client to make changes in the badges at will-call.

Since this was a short project that was executed in 2 days, we don't have a clear idea of their project management style. However, they are very prompt and receptive. Communication was done entirely over email and it worked out seamlessly.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The co-founder himself attends to sales queries, even the smallest ones. We really appreciated his quick input on the solution! They've worked with enterprise brands and yet seem very grounded while communicating.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing I can think of. Our experience was quite positive.

I’m the founder and CEO of Edsanta.com, an educational technology (EdTech) company building tech solutions that bridge skill gaps globally.

We needed help developing our product.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Marmeto is developing our web-based and mobile-friendly platform that aggregates learning programs from different providers. Users can find courses that fit their needs and requirements through our app. Our product can also match people with courses and recommend jobs and mentors. 

The solution needs to have a good database architecture and an easy-to-navigate UX. We also want the app’s speed and security to be top-notch. That’s important for us because we’re one of the world’s largest learning courses aggregators, with over 800,000 programs and 60,000 trainers on our portfolio. 

Marmeto has built the app from scratch using React, Node.js, and other technologies. They’ve also helped us develop our platform’s core elements, such as search engine, algorithm, and product architecture. Although we’ve provided initial wireframes, they’ve improved on that and designed the platform’s UI/UX. They’re currently providing maintenance on our product.

I’ve worked with 7–8 people, including their co-founder and a product manager.

We’ve started working together in January 2018, and our relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our app has performed well during our beta launch. There have been only 1–2 instances when the site has been down, and it’s because of an AWS outage. Marmeto’s coding is very good, and it’s a high-quality product overall — Marmeto’s work exceeds our expectations.

Marmeto’s team is always accessible through phone calls, and their response times are excellent whenever there’s an issue. Their project managers provide accurate timelines, which they end up following. They always update us on their progress — they’re very professional. We use Trello to collaborate.

Marmeto understands our needs and requirements, and they get in touch with us whenever necessary.

They can reduce their prices. However, even though their cost is on the higher end, they offer excellent quality.

After the initial discussions about the requirements, the team proposed a step-by-step plan and commercials for the project. They also informed about the time that would be required for different tasks. The team used to show us each task for review and feedback before taking it live. Each feedback was implemented diligently.

We primarily interacted with the account manager assigned to us. She was our main POC. We used to get weekly calls from Marmeto's customer experience team to take our feedback on the progress of each task and for a complete feedback once the project was completed.

After the new product page was taken live, we saw a 0.3% increase in the overall conversion rate of the website.

It was clear to me that they were a capable, and sincere agency, and we didn't hestitate to choose them when the opportunity came.

I believe that Marmetos depth of knowledge for everything related to Shopify and the technologies that go along with it, along with the incredible experience they've had working with the biggest and best of D2C merchants from India and around the world, is really their biggest strength. I also believe that the founders are, at the core, really nice, honest, and sincere guys to work with. And we don't find those very often.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I believe Marmeto can do with a little more chill. They're nice, fun, easy guys to work with, but can sometimes take themselves a little too seriously. They're clearly a highly professional company to work with, but it doesnt hurt to slow down and relax sometimes.

Apart from their web development and management efforts,  Marmeto | Shopify Plus Accelerator has also devised an automated inventory management system to help us track our products' manufacturing and expiry dates. They've then integrated the system into our website, so our staff and customers can have direct access to the database when necessary.
