Designer Markus Hilzinger creates luxurious interiors, perfectly formed product designs, and curates unique art concepts. For Markus Hilzinger, design is omnipresent. It affects us all and influences our actions. The balanced symbiosis of aesthetics and functionality is therefore a particular concern for the interior designer. Driven by attention to detail, passion for his work, and a vision of holistic design, Markus Hilzinger strives for harmonious proportions and perfect balance.
The designer's creations are always tailor-made, individual, and authentic. It all begins with a briefing with the client, followed by historical research, and finally, an image, an abstract idea that takes shape for the first time on a blank sheet of paper. After intensive fine-tuning and sensitive material selection, Markus Hilzinger creates a harmonious design, which is presented in the form of mood boards and renderings. The final implementation is often a long and exciting journey. Therefore, the designer oversees every project with extensive expertise and passion until completion.
MARKUS HILZINGER was born and raised in Baden. He initially studied art history at the Free University of Berlin before turning to architecture. He worked for the Orlando office, among others, before joining amj-design in 1998. His experience in structural engineering, interior design, and product design led him to the position of chief architect. Together with a 15-person team, Markus Hilzinger planned, supervised, and designed renowned projects such as the Hotel Adlon Berlin (rooms & suites, Felix Club Restaurant, China Club, Day SPA), the Grandhotel Heiligendamm, the Quellenhof Aachen, and the St. James Hotel in London for Althoff Hotels. His passion for art significantly influences the implementation of his work and has a lasting impact on it.
