We had recently changed our site's e-commerce to Magento and had some issues for which we needed expert help.

Magebit helped me optimize my site, fixing a number of issues with it in order to make it run smoother. Since cleaning it up, they've managed the site for me, installing upgrades, extensions, and custom bits of code.

How did you come to work with Magebit?

I can't remember exactly how I came across their company. I searched for the right team for quite a bit before finding Magebit.

The business is seasonal and much of the work has been completed halfway through the year, before our launch. We haven't done a lot of work this year. I'm still deciding on what direction to take.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

The total development cost so far has been around $10,000-20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I started working with Magebit three years ago. The relationship is ongoing. I added our latest task yesterday. The work is not urgent, but it's still a continuing race.

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

Magebit has kept my site operational. Their only technical weak point was on server configuration, for which I employ a different team.

The most important factor for me is website loading speed. It's as fast as it can be, only being limited by templates my company set up before Magebit's work started, so I'm happy.

What distinguishes Magebit from other providers?

They're a good team and work together well. Their company has grown, which has meant that I've had to change my strategy for working with them, but overall I'm happy. As long as I continue using Magento, I will stick with Magebit.

Is there anything Magebit could have improved or done differently?

Adding a server configuration specialist to their team would be a good improvement.

 I have a good, long relationship with the company and individuals that work here. The issues and frustrations are being worked out in a very reasonable manner.

In what ways can they improve?

They are solid. I had an issue, made some grumblings, and they have now responded in a very reasonable manner.

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

There is always give and take. Just be reasonable and things can be worked out.

I completely lost all trust in this company. Every time you do a job with them you end up down a rabbit hole that costs you 3x more than was quoted. Also, clearly just another client here. Website has issues and missing out on sales during the most important time of the year, but noone cares. Can no longer recommend.

At first we were looking for a developer team to fix some small things and magebit applied. Magebit did everything in a reliable and fast way so we were sticking with them for another 5 years now.

It came to light that Magebit had started copying our business model right after we began to work with them in 2016.
We started to work with them in April 2016, signed an NDA and non-compete clause, shortly after, in November 2016 they copied our whole business idea and started a competing company called Star Register SIA.

Don't compete with your own customers, especially if you're an IT development company

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

Don't go with them or sign a very strict NDA - if your idea is easy to copy and they see potential, they might copy it anyways - as they did with our idea.

Their 24/7 support. When our website went down on a Sunday night there was someone available in Slack who fixed it.

After a recommendation, we diligently reviewed the background of the company.

After agreeing to terms with the vendor, we starting off with smaller less complicated jobs. As we have progressed, jobs have become more and more complicated. Magebit have handled each job with absolute ease.

What was the team composition?

Magebit seems to have a fairly large team but every staff member we have dealt with has had a lot of experience gauging by the level of output. Each job we have given them so far has needed a different skill set and from our end it looks as though they allocate their best-experienced staff to deal with each unique case we present to them. Every staff member we have dealt with has worked incredibly fast and with excellent efficiency.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Through their work, they have been able to provide us with a more faster flowing, user-friendly and secure website.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very easy. You can let them know how urgent the work is and pay accordingly which we like. They also respond almost immediately to your requests.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their experience and professionalism are what stands out. Also, they have a very practical approach to how they deal with clients and truly try to understand your needs and limitations without trying to sell you things you don't need. They have a great ability to put themselves in the client's shoes and that only wins our trust and makes us want to work more and more with them.

In all honesty, we haven't encountered this yet.
