They are very fast and also provide an "immediate" option (2 times the hourly rate) which is great when having an error which need urgent solving

Sometimes Atlassian is a bit confusing, but this is not their fault.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Whenever we have new ideas, Magebit helps us perform AB testings to implement the best-performing alternative; we’ve seen an improvement in our conversion rates thanks to this approach.

As general feedback, Magebit has very experienced developers with a great understanding of Magento’s platform. Thus, they always find a solution for the challenges we bring without needing much guidance. Additionally, they excel at solving urgent issues, finding a resource in the middle of the night who can take on the task promptly.

How did Magebit perform from a project management standpoint?

Before starting working on any task, Magebit gives us an estimate. For the most part, they’ve stuck to those estimates, but some projects have gone over budget or over the deadline. However, those overages aren’t necessarily their fault; sometimes, we face unexpected challenges.

Although we communicate mostly with the project manager, we can also talk directly with the developers for straightforward tasks. We use Jira to manage projects and emails to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Magebit is extremely knowledgeable in Magento, and there is no challenge for which they can’t find a solution.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be great if Magebit provided more accurate time estimates for big projects. Sometimes, they underestimate how long those projects will take.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear about your scope and have good communication with Magebit’s developers. If you provide them with clear information, they’re very good at following your requirements to the letter.

I’m the head of e-commerce and customer service at Evapo, an online retailer of vaping products. We have over 35 physical stores, most of which are based in the UK.

What challenge were you trying to address with Magebit?

We were looking for a new website development partner. We were working with a technical development partner for our websites, but the head of development left the company, and they weren’t able to deliver projects on time since that happened. Not long before that, we had launched our new website on Magento 2, so we were looking for a partner who could both manage and further develop our site.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Onboarding someone new seemed challenging, but Magebit was able to take over our previous partner’s code and make corrections to the site. Since then, they’ve been helping us make improvements and SEO enhancements to our site. These efforts include SEO audits, usability audits, and conversion optimization audits, and we’ve implemented their recommendations after those audits.

Our main point of contact from Magebit is the customer success manager. Still, we have direct communication with the whole development team because we work on their support dashboard.

How did you come to work with Magebit?

At the time, we appointed a consultant to shortlist providers for us. We asked for two UK-based and one foreign Magento 2 experts, and Magebit was one of the potential partners that they shortlisted. Magebit was the strongest candidate due to their practices, pricing structure, and ability to communicate with us despite being in a different time zone.

We’ve spent about $50,000 on the project.

What is the status of the engagement?

We began our partnership in April 2021, and we’re still working with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

So far, we've successfully completed 100 tasks and projects; this has been our main success metric. Working with our previous partner, we were nowhere near that delivery speed.

Regarding our site’s traffic, it is a bit unfair to compare our current results with last year’s due to the implications of COVID-19. Still, we’ve seen double-digit growth in our traffic, which has been significantly higher than expected. 

About 30%–40% of the tasks that Magebit has done for us have been related to SEO. Now, the keywords that we track are ranking double digits higher than before working with them.

How did Magebit perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve had multiple projects with set deadlines, and Magebit has always delivered within the required timelines. We use Magebit’s support board to communicate, which is very similar to a Jira board; 95% of our communication happens through that board.

Whenever I assign them a task, they provide estimates, give feedback, or ask for clarification. After we agree on the task’s scope, they start the development process. Aside from their support board, we communicate with the customer success manager via phone calls, and we have a shared Slack channel with Magebit’s entire team.

What did you find most impressive about them?

How Magebit works is impressive. They provide excellent support through their dashboard and manage tasks in our own time, which has been helpful for our remote collaboration.

Thanks to their approach, we always know where projects are at, making our relationship incredibly smooth. They offer good value and act as our internal development team, which is exactly what we were looking for.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Projects that involve multiple third parties and partners sometimes feel a little slower to get moving, and ours hasn’t been the exception. However, this isn’t a major issue. Magebit feels more like a support-if-needed team, so it would be great if they were more proactive so that we could stand back completely.

Take the time upfront to get to know your success manager and ensure they understand your goals and your preferred way of working.

Originally, we wanted to find a partner with SEO expertise. However, we had a developer working for us, but we weren’t satisfied with their services, so we looked for a new partner who also had development skills.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, Magebit came on board to provide us with SEO services, but we eventually migrated all of our digital efforts to them. Their services have included web development, backend infrastructure problem-solving, new feature development, API integrations, and website maintenance. Additionally, they still provide us with SEO services and Google and Meta ad campaign management.

The site that Magebit has helped us with is based on Magento 2, and it has two sides to it: a B2C e-commerce store and a B2B platform. It is connected to our ERP system and contains a lot of information about our products. Although we work together on keyword research for our PPC and SEO efforts, we create the content in-house.

Magebit has provided us with a much better service than our previous provider, and they cover our operations 24/7. As a result, we’ve seen a significant increase in our business metrics. Our projects are very straightforward, but Magebit still shows a great level of expertise that help us bring them to completion. Additionally, their team is very skilled at fixing bugs, which is noteworthy.

How did Magebit perform from a project management standpoint?

Magebit has performed very well. Not every project is a top priority, but whenever we have one of those projects with a set deadline, they definitely deliver. We use Jira to manage projects, and we communicate via email and video calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Magebit is a 360 web development company, and they have an excellent overview of our needs. Given that we’re a small company, we don’t have an IT department; however, Magebit does an excellent job covering every one of our needs.

The most important thing you need to do is to share your vision and what you need from your website. This way, you will help them understand your and your client’s needs better so that they can create the best customer experience and functionalities.

Magebit provides us with e-commerce development, updating and enhancing our Magento Open Source platform. They’re our primary resource for technical issues. Although they mainly work on the technology side of our platform, they’ve also done some work on the look and feel. The team does testing to fix issues with our platform.

We have a rotating team. Our project manager has been assigned to us from the start, so he’s our point of contact. Other than that, Magebit assigns tasks to their resources based on the scope of work and each person’s skill set.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Magebit is very responsive to emergency technical issues critical to our site. Our metrics include money spent, total tickets resolved, and time to resolve. 

How did Magebit perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management has been good, and they’ve gotten better over time. They always give me a scope and project estimate. If they find anything that changes the parameters, they always communicate and provide a new estimate.

We open tickets for them online, and they use the Atlassian platform for project management. As for communication, we have annual reviews and periodic meetings if needed.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed with Magebit’s knowledge of our platform; this is our business, so it’s really important to us. We haven’t come up with anything that the team hasn’t been able to solve. Although some things are more complex and may take more time, they can handle any issues with the platform. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only challenge we’ve faced is that sometimes when opening a ticket, we don’t really know the timeframe because Magebit puts it into a queue. Non-critical tickets might take longer to resolve; that’s their standard workflow, and it’s understandable. However, they’re very responsive to critical issues, and they’ll always move tickets up when I ask.

I would suggest having a face-to-face meeting with Magebit. Make sure you understand your expectations and how they work; their systems are very manageable. Then, have regular contact with them if there are any issues.

It's hard to compare our market before and after covid-19. So it's not easy to share data of improved conversion rate etc. However, everyone really likes the site because it’s very professional looking. I’m 100% satisfied with Magebit’s deliverables.

I'm very satisfied with with Magebit’s project management. As I'm not very technical myself I have needed to get everything explained to me, and I'm very happy with how the project manager have helped out.

I always believe that there is areas for improvements, but nothing comes to mind at this moment.

We needed to develop a software piece but didn’t have the internal resources to develop it, so we decided to outsource a partner to help us with the project.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Magebit has helped us develop our software from scratch. Initially, we provided them with product R&D documentation. Once they received and reviewed this documentation, they asked us questions and clarified the details. Then, they started the development process. However, I wasn’t part of that process, and I joined the project after they had already finished the software piece.

When I joined, we were already in the post-development process, which has included debugging and maintenance. We’ve already deployed the software into production, and users have been actively using it. Now, whenever we have any issues, we communicate with Magebit, and they fix them.

Our company provides acquiring services for merchants, processing credit card payments on their websites. With this software piece, we can now offer our services through Shopify, so Shopify-based stores can now process their payments with our help.

As our software comes into the picture in the last step of Shopify’s purchase process, the payment process has to be very smooth and reliable so that the purchase gets to be completed. We now have customers using the services, and the product works well. Additionally, we’re constantly improving it. Overall, we’re very happy with their services, which is why I wanted to leave this review.

How did Magebit perform from a project management standpoint?

Magebit has been very reactive, responsive, and caring. This hasn’t been an easy project, but their team has been absolutely supportive and engaging, and their communication is very smooth. Additionally, they’ve stuck to the timeline, which is great because we have to keep the project moving. 

The project manager communicates with us daily, and if we have any issues, they respond very quickly. Every time we need them, they’re there, and we can rely on them. We also have a shared Slack channel, which eases our communication. Additionally, we communicate via email and use Jira to manage the project and create tickets.

Magebit’s communication is their strong point. Our communication has been very smooth, and we can reach out to their team whenever we need support. Overall, they excel at dedicating their time and energy to their client's projects.

As Magebit’s work is very specific, they usually don’t have enough room for creative work. In the future, it would be great if they could provide creative solutions to their customers, actively participating in the projects from start to finish.

Communication is the most important aspect of development projects because they involve a lot of details and nuances. If the communication isn’t clear, a lot of things can go wrong or create misunderstandings. Thus, I would recommend you to communicate with Magebit constantly and keep yourself involved in the project.

They understood the level of urgency of the project. The website was crashing and unstable, and they worked diligently to get it on track. They quickly understood problems that arose and got them fixed quickly. 

Since they fixed the site, there has been an increase in traffic, revenue has increased monthly, and the user experience seems to be good. 

How did Magebit perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re accessible, organized, and accommodating. Jira is the primary tool we use, and I have an open line of communication with the developers any time I need to discuss things with them. Communication is good.

They allow us to have direct communication with the developers. This helps the project to run more efficiently, making our work easier and the execution of tasks quicker. I really appreciate this.

Project is still ongoing. The goal is to launch the web store, with automated processes, to ensure high standards we want to comply with. Web store functionality, because of our differentiated agreements with distributors worldwide, is complicated.

Magebit was highly recommended by trusted source, who had experience with Magento. However, we did research a potentials Vendors, met with few of them and made a decision based on the best fit to our needs. We knew that Magebit understands our needs, and shares the same values as we do.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Mostly, Magebit provided us with professional Magento Front-end and Back-end development. While we were delivering graphic designs in-house, Magebit consulted on User Experience of given designs and took full control of integrating them into the website. Additionally, team consulted on most effective ways of developing certain functions and always provided us with options to choose from depending on what fits us.

Apart from development, Magebit also consulted or in one or another way helped us with other e-commerce related topics, such as SEO, Best E-Commerce practices, different services and UX. Finally, they helped us to understand Magento architecture, Magento general configurations helped to create solid and stable server infrastructure and took the lead on project management of development of vital pages of our e-shop (my account, cart and checkout).

So far, we had opportunity to work with around 6-7 specialists from Magebit. Our communication with Magebit has been mostly through a project manager, which is handy as one person knows all the processes going around our website and is able to assign appropriate developers/specialists for a given task depending on skill sets.

However, when it requires deeper expertise regarding certain aspects, we discuss matters with specialists in those areas directly, e.g. - server infrastructure or matters on hierarchy of storeviews or websites under our Magento.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Project is still ongoing, but impact definitely will be major. This is a new sales channel we are developing, structure. It will change most of the processes we are having now.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

I couldn't imagine a better project management. My main contact person is project manager, his high work ethics and attitude exceeded our expectations. Reliable partner, who always gives to us many options, foresees any challenges which might appear and gives us information we need to make the right decision.

Their speed, personal attitude, experience, and knowledge impressed us.
