What challenge were you trying to address with LTIMindtree?

We needed help with custom software development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

LTIMindtree has helped us accelerate the hydration of our data lake platform. They provide Snowflake engineers and help us onboard our strategic data sets into our data lake platform and all the used resources.

We initially gave them an overview of our data lake problem, structure, and reference architecture. We also gave an overview of our backlog with the strategic data sets we wanted to onboard into our platform. Then, we discussed the resources and requirements we needed for them to help us with our journey.

From there, they’ve used Snowflake, NiFi, AWS, Bitbucket, Python, and JavaScript to support us with custom software development. The team helps us build new data warehouses within our platform from scratch. They’re also typically involved in taking data from different on-premise and cloud data sources and onboarding it into the data lake platform. Then, they make the data accessible to meet the analytics and reporting requirements of several data consumers.

What is the team composition?

We have over 10 team members; most of them are Snowflake and AWS engineers. At one point, we had over 20 people.

How did you come to work with LTIMindtree?

They were referred to us. They supported other parts of our organization for similar efforts.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $500,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2020, and our relationship is ongoing. We plan to extend our partnership for next year.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our partnership has worked exceptionally well. We measure the speed of onboarding the data and consuming it effectively.

How did LTIMindtree perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re part of our delivery team, so they attend our daily standup meetings. Also, they provide input and help us with scoping and sizing all the projects. Overall, they’re great to work with.

We use Jira and Confluence and communicate via email, Zoom, and Teams.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They provide qualified Snowflake resources; the team has knowledge and expertise.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing to improve.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to provide a good project overview.
