BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the director and founder of In Sue's Name. It’s a charity raising money for brain tumor research I set up in 2014 after we lost our daughter in 2011. She died after a six-week illness at the age of 42, leaving two young children. We’ve raised about £260,000 (approximately $336,000 USD) for brain tumor research.

What challenge were you trying to address with LovingSocialMedia?

We brought them on for help with sponsorship, social media, and general encouragement.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They handle our social media marketing including our Facebook. We recently started to get involved in Instagram and our next step is Twitter. Right now, we’re working on Google reviews and starting to look at SEO.

Garry (Managing Director) offers any advice I ask him for within his sphere of operation. He’s always investigating and learning about new things. I’ve attended several of his courses. At the very beginning of the engagement, he taught me all about Facebook.

What is the team composition?

I work directly with Garry.

How did you come to work with LovingSocialMedia?

I attended my first course from Garry about seven or eight years ago. I was just learning about Facebook. When I started the charity, they immediately became involved in giving us advice and help.

How much have you invested with them?

Garry has done all this work for us free of charge because that’s the type of person he is; it’s absolutely amazing. I’ve made him take about £200– £300 (approximately $260–$390 USD) but everything else has been free.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement started in February 2017.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I receive reports on Google Analytics. We’ve had great social media engagement that brings more people to our events. Garry is so full of enthusiasm and knowledge. We have a strong relationship. He understands me, and I understand him, we know each other’s weaknesses. He’s an absolute gem. I’ve recommended him to a number of people because he truly cares about his clients.

How did LovingSocialMedia perform from a project management standpoint?

LovingSocial Media always comes up with good ideas. Garry is focused and technical. However, he’s also great at breaking things down and explaining them to me in layman’s terms.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Garry is always ahead of the curve. He spends a lot of time researching developments and trends in social media. He’s able to come to his clients with new ideas and move them ahead of their competitors. He is honest and caring,

Are there any areas they could improve?

Sometimes, Garry is so busy that he’s not immediately available. However, he always gets back to me in the end.  He tries to do too much and sometimes needs to slow down a little bit. But, I’m just as guilty of that as he is so I can’t claim to be an expert on that. What matters the most is that he gets things done, in his own way, and it's always done well.
