The firm's offices have been in The Grant Building since 1939, a cornerstone of the Pittsburgh financial and legal community. Originally founded by Harold Hersperger, John Love joined the firm in 1948. By 1959, it had grown into Love, Wilson & Company. Thomas Love and Joseph Scherle joined the firm in 1966. Carl Bauer joined the firm in 1970. By 1988, the firm had grown into Love, Scherle & Bauer.
