BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the President and CEO of Hired Knives - a job platform specifically for the food and beverage industry.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Logic Solutions, and what were your goals?

We initially worked with a different firm to build the Hired Knives website - needless to say, they did not meet our expectations which led us to engage Logic Solutions.

SOLUTION

How did you select Logic Solutions and what were the deciding factors?

We conducted an RFP looking for a technology partner who could help salvage the initial development work from our previous developer. This is no small task as many technology firms do not want to take on another firm's work. We found Logic to be pragmatic in their approach, performing a code review and stress testing the original build. The results were not great but better than they could have been so we developed a plan to get the existing platform up to a working standard so that we had a viable minimum product to prove our concept. Logic did an amazing job of this, creating a working site that looked and felt as we had envisioned.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Our scope of work consisted of a code review of the previous unfinished site, stress testing of the technology (Joomla, which was not a technology Logic worked with - for good reason), and then building out or changing the functionality to meet our requirements i.e. staff and employer profiles with images, job board, job alerts, etc. Following the completion of the site and a meaningful pilot period, we worked with Logic to build an iOS and Android app for staff users to apply for jobs and communicate with potential employers.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Primarily, two - Keith Shen (project manager) and Matt Sarkesian (CTO). Both were great to work with, responsive and knowledgeable. Every time we had a challenge, we would collaborate to find the best solution on a start-up budget.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

They worked magic turning our original site into something our users would actually want to use. The difference was significant - we were very pleased with their work.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.

Very organized and accessible. If I had a question, concern, or an idea, our project manager would make himself available.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

How personable they were. It really felt like we were all on the same team.
