We did several projects with Levitate. Initially we did two animations that were excellent. We then did an interview-style video for our IDT EXPO event. The final one we did was a promotional video for our company ADV Integrity. This latter one did not go well as they used multiple vendors. After that I decided to start my own marketing company and produce the quality of videos I wanted. Initially circa 2017-2019 Levitate was  extremely good when we were working with John.

Please see my previous comments. The initial work Levitate did helped me promote my company and I believe it was very effective. The last video was not good.

all items were on time, they were waiting for us for most of the info. They provided a set of questions for the interviews which we didn't need to change. the process was seamless and didn't require a lot of effort on my end. They knew what we required from our introduction call and delivered exactly what we wanted and more.

I’m a department head for a textile technology company. We provide ingredient textile technology that helps manage humidity and temperature for clothing, as well as remove moisture from the wearer’s microclimate to speed evaporation, helping their body to naturally thermo-regulate.

What challenge were you trying to address with Levitate Media?

We had an existing animated explainer video to tell the viewer how our technology works, what it does, and how it’s applied. However, it was around seven years old, so it was outdated. Therefore, it was time for us to update our explainer video, for which we hired Levitate Media to help us out.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Before working with Levitate Media, we had been working with a different partner, so we had gotten far down the road. We already had a complete script detailing what we wanted to say in the video and received some storyboard direction. Thus, we had a clear vision of what we were looking for, so we initially focused on getting Levitate Media up to speed so that they aligned with that vision.

Nonetheless, Levitate Media still did a lot of work on the storyboarding side and made some minor tweaks to the script. From there, they put together the video relying heavily on stock footage libraries — they didn’t film actual footage themselves. Moreover, they integrated some 3D animation footage that we had purchased from one of our partners.

What is the team composition?

For this project, I had two direct points of contact from Levitate Media. Simone (Video Strategist) provided account management services and helped me get the agreement and the paperwork in order. From there, I worked with a creative director for the creative side of the project.

How did you come to work with Levitate Media?

We had talked with Levitate Media for a previous project a couple of years back, so we already knew about them. However, I don’t know how we originally found them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $6,000, not including the 3D animations purchased from a different partner.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2022, and Levitate Media delivered the video in January 2023.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Although we haven’t used the video produced by Levitate Media — mainly because it has a very specific use case — it has been very well-received internally and by our partners who have seen it. We’ve received very positive feedback.

How did Levitate Media perform from a project management standpoint?

Levitate Media delivered on time and stayed on budget. Throughout the project, I had to wait for someone from our side to get back from a trade show and review the progress, so we had some delays on our end. Still, Levitate Media was very good at trying to keep things moving forward where they could without pestering us. They walked the line between staying on top of the project and not being annoying very well.

We communicated via email and used Frame.io to do video reviews. Additionally, Levitate Media used Basecamp to manage the project, and we had some Microsoft Teams meetings as well. Our company prefers to use Microsoft Teams, but we probably also had Zoom meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Levitate Media was very easy to work with, and they understood the direction we wanted to go right from the start. Moreover, they were very good at providing feedback; whenever they were stuck on something that wasn’t working quite right, they offered suggestions on how to address it.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There was nothing Levitate Media could have improved on. We enjoyed the process, and we have every intention of working with them again.

Go in with your own vision and be receptive to feedback.

We needed to develop sales and marketing tools that could help us highlight who we are to get our brand and our name in the industry.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Levitate Media did video production for us. We started by filling up a survey so they could get an idea of what we do, our target audience, and our vision. Their team was able to guide us through the process because we weren’t sure of what we wanted, so they introduced us to multiple options. After a back-and-forth communication process to get the creative process going, they gave us sample videos of similar things they did for other companies, and we came up with the scope of what we wanted to do.

The end product includes filmed and animated material, which they created remotely. It was a business commercial with stock footage, making everything more efficient. Moreover, they handled video editing, audio mixing, and voiceover recording.

We worked with Christina (Production Coordinator), Simone (Video Strategist), and more people working behind the scenes.

I found them through Clutch. I put out an RFP and chose Levitate Media based on their price range and our first meetings with them.

We saw an increase in clicks and shares, and their work was also helpful in allowing us to introduce our work to potential clients. In addition, we started to showcase the video they made on our website and social media channels, giving our business better visibility.

How did Levitate Media perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management was awesome — they stayed on budget and were ahead of schedule. Moreover, Christina was wonderful because she was patient, met with me even when she was busy and led a helpful approach. Regarding communication, we used phone calls, Microsoft Teams, monday.com, and a couple of tools to manage the storyboard creation.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their best attribute was their strength to listen to us to develop a final solution for our needs that could speak about our company — Levitate Media took the time to understand our business.

I didn’t think there was anything they could improve on — their work was absolutely perfect.

Be open to new ideas to see what Levitate Media’s team can bring to the table. Our end product was beyond our expectations, and that was because Levitate Media was committed to our project’s success by taking our requirements and making them ten times better.

Initially, we had a kickoff call with Levitate Media, during which we discussed our requirements and what the focus was for both videos. After that, they helped us finalize the scripts that we had and created the storyboards. From there, their team proceeded with the production process; they sent us rough drafts for each video and accommodated any feedback or requests we had along the way. They also worked on the voiceover, animations, soundtrack, and other video elements.

We’ve already posted the videos on YouTube and our website. We’re planning to work with Levitate Media on future video projects.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

For the first video, we’ve gotten about 112 views so far — there’s an asterisk to that number because we changed the terms and conditions that were listed on the video after about a year. As for the second video, we’ve received about 110 views since releasing it seven months ago. 

How did Levitate Media perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve done a fantastic job from a project management standpoint — they’re strong communicators and good at managing expectations and meeting deadlines. We use monday.com to keep track of tasks.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’re impressed with the quality of their videos; it’s exceptionally high. They’ve helped us turn our ideas into a very easy-to-follow, visually appealing piece of content.

Are there any areas they could improve on?

I really can’t think of anything Levitate Media could improve on since they’ve done a great job.

I'm the marketing director for the Mises Institute which seeks a free-market capitalist economy and a private-property order that rejects taxation, monetary debasement, and a coercive state monopoly of protective services.

For what projects/services did your company hire Levitate Media, and what were your goals?

Economics for Business is a project of the Mises Institute that aims to bring the principles of Austrian economics to business and entrepreneurship. We hired Levitate to create a series of videos which told the story of five entrepreneurs and their unique paths to success using the Austrian Business Model

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We had originally chosen a different vendor and had been working on this project for several months with them. Too many delays, and an ever-changing costs led us to look for an alternative. We told Levitate what our budget was, and asked them for solid pricing that would account for all potential cost changes. They delivered that pricing and stayed within their initial estimates throughout the entirety of the project.

After our discovery meeting, we were quickly given a prospective budget and a presentation which included sample videos. In our next meeting we were able to convey the style of video we wanted, and from there the Levitate team ran with it. They kept a folder of drafts that we could always access, and they were always responsive to any suggestions or criticisms we had.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

Tracey was our initial contact, and we continued to work with her throughout, but we worked mostly with Evan and Jamie. All three, Tracey, Evan, and Jamie, were always easy to reach. They were receptive in only positive ways to all of our requests, feedback, and questions, often taking time to do deep dives on technical things that we were confused about or needing clarification on. We knew that we could always reach them if we needed them.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The entrepreneurs we featured in our videos are thrilled with the final product. They have used them in marketing for their own companies. Additionally the Economics for Business project is using them as teaching and marketing tools.

Jamie and Evan drew out a timeline for us at the beginning of the project and stuck closely to it through to completion. If there were ever delays (which were always very short) they clearly communicated the problem and the revised timeline and always met the updated suspense. We were able to see all drafts in progress, and each time something new was added we were notified and provided links. Project management was excellent.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We are impressed with Levitate's decentralized approach to business. Having film crews available all across the country that can be managed remotely by the same producer gives Levitate a unique edge that enables them to provide a better product at a better price than their competition. We are so impressed, in fact, that we want to include Levitate as a success story in one of our future projects highlighting unique and innovative business practices.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No. We were totally satisfied with all the staff we worked with, the production process, and the finished product.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the CMO at HUVRdata - a B2B, enterprise software platform that allows industrial asset owners like energy companies to aggregate all of the inspection data they collect. Think oil rigs, wind farms, subsea cables, pipelines, solar farms and heavy industrial manufacturing assets like refractories. The inspection data can originate from any type of robot, drone, sensor or technician's digital checklist, and it can be in any format - visual or quantitative.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Levitate Media, and what were your goals?

We contracted with levitate for a 75 second explainer video. HUVR solves a latent need in a complex ecosystem, so being able to quickly and clearly articulate "who we are, what we do and why you should care" can be a challenge. Hence the explainer video.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I've led projects to create explainer videos several times throughout my career, so knew roughly what we wanted. I was surprised by the vastly expanded number of providers to sort through, and the much wider range of prices for what was being positioned as the same deliverable. Ultimately we narrowed the field by reading reviews and conducting screening interviews. We wanted quality, professionalism, an easy working relationship and value, so selected accordingly.

Scripting was the first step and went through 8 iterations. It's not easy to tell a complex story in 150 words, so we ultimately needed to have faith that the complementary visuals would add the unwritten context and impact. Storyboarding was the second step and also was iterated upon 7 or 8 times. Finally was animation, which only went through a handful of tweaks.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

The process was stellar. We met originally with an Account Exec, then with a project manager for the majority of the process. Everything was tracked in Basecamp, which kept us 100% in sync. Feedback was received with a smile - no pride-of-ownership pushback, and only positive iterative guidance. And things went more quickly and smoothly overall than I'd even imagined that they could.

Within 3 weeks of promoting the video we've dramatically increased LinkedIn followers and received positive feedback from from customers, partners and prospects. The vide helps people understand who we are, what we do and why people should care.

Again, Basecamp was the formal project management tool, but it was successful, because our project coordinator/producer, Mike, was exceedingly timely, professional and a pleasure to engage with.

They offer a very high-quality package, program, and experience for a reasonable price. I've spent similar for similar deliverables in the past, but never with this level of ongoing engagement (sometimes multiple times per day). They have the process nailed - strategically to guide script and storyboard creation and tactically to make the design/animation updates incredibly quickly.

Levitate has contacted me in the past and I had them saved as a possible resource. For this project I received quotes and sample work from about 5 different vendors and Levitate had the best product and reasonable pricing.

We provided Levitate with raw video clips and transcriptions with highlights of what we wanted to included. We talked through the project with them and our goals and handed over so that they could edit and add graphics, transitions, music.

We needed a super-fast what-the-heck-is-your-service all about video for our web page.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Someone recommended Levitate-- and I'd been getting solicitations from them periodically over the years.

First we educated the Levitate folks in great detail as to what our CodeLab service does, why it's unique, why it's waaayyyy better than the so-called "competition", and what elements we thing are most attractive to first-time potential adopters. Then we helped guide them to record a handful of short screencasts of our product in use. Then they did the MAGIC. Out came a perfect intro in under 90 seconds (which was our target). They managed to get all the essential ideas in there, with a smooth narrative flow. I was and still am truly amazed.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

I don't remember the specific names of the people we worked with and I wouldn't put them in here anyway. They were all super pleasant, professional and knew what they were doing. There was a feedback process, and we offered a few tweaks here and there which they made good use of.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We don't do A/B testing or anything like that so I can't offer quantitative measures. The video absolutely serves its purpose. Users know if our services might be of interest to them within seconds. If they stick it out to 40 seconds, they will learn the essence of the service. If they watch all the way (which according to Vimeo a high percentage do) they will have gotten about 95% of any pitch we could make, even if we had 10 minutes. All in 88 seconds.
