Introduce your business and what you do there.

Tesacom is a company that provides communication and IoT services for certain customers in South America, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Paraguay. I was the project's director, so I was in charge of the IoT services that the company develops for customers.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Lamansys?

We required Lamansys to study our technology, our needs, and certain aspects of our actual customers, and provide us with documentation and proposals for developing the platforms.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Lamansys provided us with architecture development, database structuring, technology recommendation, and other aspects related to software data processing. We started with several meetings to explain our needs and after that, they interviewed our customers to gather information.

They then provided us with the entire project documentation consisting of the workflow, processes and technologies required for the project. The technologies they suggested for the project were NoSQL for the database, C# for processing, and JavaScript and Node.js for the interfacing.

What is the team composition?

We worked with around six people in different areas; a project manager and two data specialists — one for the architecture, and two for the MVPs.

How did you come to work with Lamansys?

I've known them personally for almost 10 years and we've worked with them on several projects in the past.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested roughly $11,000 in this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from June 2020–February 2021.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We didn’t move to the development phase of the platform, so I don't have any metrics other than the fulfillment of the roles we agreed on — Lamansys was able to successfully provide me with the documents I required in my country.

How did Lamansys perform from a project management standpoint?

They delivered their tasks on time, but were very costly. 95% of the communication was done remotely through Microsoft teams.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were impressed with their extensive knowledge of algorithms and mathematical models.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could be more flexible when it comes to timings and meetings.

Any advice for potential customers?

I would advise you to be clear with your ideas and give them exactly what they need instead of expecting them to investigate your requirements.

I work at a government education institution. We specialize in technology developments for the national education system. I’m the product manager at the organization, and I’m in charge of software development products.

What challenge were you trying to address with Lamansys?

We’ve had several contracts with Lamansys through the last couple of years. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our team and Lamansys have developed education management systems for virtual classrooms and roll calls, among other things requested by the National Education Ministry. 

One of the projects they’ve developed is a management system that generates products available to each department of the country. The product allows for roll calls, curriculum planning, and grading. It’s connected to a centralized system that provides the education ministry with data for strategic decision-making. Lamansys also provides maintenance services to us for this product; they’re in charge of its infrastructure. 

Moreover, their team provides maintenance to another system of ours. It’s a management system for the government’s computer delivery program to schools around the country. 

These systems are developed on Java. Their databases run on multiple technologies, such as SQL services and IBM. Lamansys also uses technologies like Angular, but Java is their main coding language. 

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with a lot of team members throughout the engagement. We generally communicate with a functional analyst and manager. Behind them, there’s a huge team of developers, QA specialists, and front- and backend specialists. 

How did you come to work with Lamansys?

Being a state educational institution, we worked with numerous universities. At some point, we had a development project for a research institution that was in the same city as we were. As our workload started increasing, that institution created a company that would later become Lamansys to provide software development services. After that project, we decided to work alongside them as partners. 

How much have you invested with them?

Our last contract has been about 63 million Argentine pesos (approximately $370,000 USD). 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Lamansys in October 2021, and the engagement is ongoing. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Multiple institutions around the country use the system that Lamansys has developed. It’s a system with a high-performance capacity, and we haven’t had any issues with it. Meanwhile, the Lamansys team has always been available whenever anything comes up. 

Overall, we’ve had a great experience working with them. They’re always there to respond to our requests and needs, so it’s truly easy working with them. If they say they’ll deliver something on a certain date, I can lay back and talk to our clients because I know Lamansys will do as they say. 

How did Lamansys perform from a project management standpoint?

They use Trello as a project management tool. I can log in and check their sprint progress and movement. The team uses the scrum methodology to manage the sprints. Meanwhile, we use Slack and WhatsApp to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Lamansys has provided creative solutions to the problems we’ve had. It’s not easy to develop projects from scratch when there’s nothing similar to it within the industry. Moreover, their commitment and professionalism toward the project and planning are impressive. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any. I’m truly happy with their work; they’re one of the best service providers that have worked with us.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

With Lamansys, you can find a team that can solve problems for you. They’ll take care of your product. However, it’s also important that you have a clear idea of what you need.
