BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the owner of Everyday Sommelier, a wine experience company. We run a fine wine and gourmet shop, wine education classes, and destination travel experiences.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with KW Graphics and Web?

I requested assistance with developing a website and logo.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

KW Graphics and Web came on board before we even became a company. We had a name, a tagline, and a hand-drawn logo. Kimberly (Entrepreneur Owner, KW Graphics and Web) used design techniques to refine the logo and make it visually interesting. Per our request, she added wine glasses and a globe to the lettering to reflect our tagline: “Your guide to the world of wine, one glass at a time.” 

Once the logo was complete, we paused the project to start our company. After that, KW Graphics and Web created a multi-page website that highlights our services and uses photographs to tell our story. Kimberly advised us on what photos to use and how to run the site ourselves once the project was over.

What is the team composition?

We only worked with Kimberly.

How did you come to work with KW Graphics and Web?

My husband—and Everyday Sommelier’s co-owner—researched local website designs online, and KW Graphics and Web popped up.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent less than $5,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The logo project ran from July until September 2018. The website project started shortly after that, and the site launched by late November.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve received lovely compliments on the website and Kimberly’s artistry. We reach out to overseas suppliers to carry their goods in our shop. Each time, those suppliers will look at our website and be impressed enough to send their products our way to sell. 

The site gives us credibility because of its polished, sophisticated appearance and easy-to-navigate user interface. Our customers regularly compliment us on how easy it is to use our website. Kimberly did a fantastic job with her creative touches on the photographs and design choices. We’re over the moon about her work.

How did KW Graphics and Web perform from a project management standpoint?

Kimberly was available any time we needed her. During the project, we spoke with her several times a week over phone and email. We keep in touch whenever we encounter technical issues or need her for ongoing tasks. For example, we recently renovated our shop to get it ready for opening, and Kimberly helped us collect and set up pictures of the new look.

She was also extremely punctual. She met every deadline we set and gave prompt feedback whenever we needed it. She’s also been patience when we’ve been slower about getting things to her.

What did you find most impressive about them?

KW Graphics and Web is very creative, goal-oriented, and straightforward. Kimberly is especially good at explaining why she did a specific technique or why this was the best decision. She made it very clear and understandable to us, remaining consistent and concise throughout the explanation.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I think she did a great job. 

Any advice for potential customers?

Take the time to think about what you want for your project. Write down your ideas and compile examples of things you like or don’t like. Clearly articulate your mission and what’s important to you. That will give Kimberly a starting point on your taste, values, and the ideas you want to communicate.
