BACKGROUND

Could you please provide a brief overview of your company?

We provide a platform for parents. Our website allows parents to share memories of their children, track their growth, and catalog their children’s development. Parents can accomplish this within a private network of friends, family members, and associates.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What was your main goal or objective for undertaking a project with KNS Technologies?

We worked with several different developers and, more often than not, they operate as order takers. This is essentially when you provide them information, and they attempt to complete each task. After having the opportunity to speak with KNS staff, I realized they performed quite differently. They offered significant input to help my business partner build our vision. I was searching for a partner with the expertise to complete the project, and provide constructive feedback.

What was the process by which you discovered and selected KNS Technologies to work with?

I asked them a series of questions. I was trying to understand their background, both personal and professional, because we thought that our project required a certain personal vision as well. At some point, we conducted a conference call with them in order to discuss our project requirements and our overall vision. They immediately took the lead within a matter of hours. Within 24 hours, we were contacted by at least two or three members of the team; they offered ideas, structures, methods, layouts, and everything. Their initiative and detailed vision impressed us and ultimately convinced us to select them as our partner.

SOLUTION

Could you please elaborate more on project itself?

We had another development team establish our website. What we wanted to do was expand to the mobile platform. We wanted to build an application for the iPhone, and then begin work on Android compatibility. KNS claimed they could improve our current website and link the mobile app to it.

How long ago was the project completed?

The project was completed approximately 60 days ago during the earlier part of 2013.

Could you please provide a very general cost estimate for the project?

The project cost $10,000.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

How happy are you with the results?

I am extremely pleased. I have a business partner who is a stickler for details. I’ve yet to see him satisfied with anything, but he’s entirely satisfied. KNS is open to slight corrections and alterations. They accept our feedback, and then make the necessary adjustments. They don’t push back. There’s no animosity in the relationship; it’s just, “Thank you. We see exactly what you’re saying. Here’s this and how about we even enhance it to another degree?” The really know how to create added value.

When working with KNS Technologies, was there anything that you found to be unique or special compared to other developers or vendors that you’ve worked with?

The personality and forethought they invest in their work. At no point does one feel as if they’re merely another customer or client. They put their heart and soul into it. They put in an effort that you wouldn’t believe. They work around the clock. At 3 o’clock in the morning, I’ve received an email akin to: “Craig, I’ve thought of this. What do you think about this? Oh, OK. Just thinking – just an idea.” They don’t feel like they’re working for us; it feels like we’re all working collectively to achieve the same goal, with the same vision, on the same train, so to speak.

In retrospect, are there any areas that you think KNS Technologies could improve upon, or that you might do different as a client?

I honestly can’t think of anything because they were so flexible and accommodating. There were certainly times when my business partner, and I would alter our course completely. We would say, “This is our vision. We see something else.” KNS would respond, “Well, let’s try this.” They were nimble and agile – organization grade, and number grade. They were also extremely responsive.
