I’m the CEO of an advanced ophthalmic materials company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Kinden Accounting & Advisory?

We didn’t have anyone to do our bookkeeping, and it was up to us to input our financial data into our online accounting systems. 

Eventually, we started having a hard time balancing that with our other tasks, so we were looking for someone to take over our bookkeeping.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Kinden provides bookkeeping services for us. They first created a financial system for us using QuickBooks, Dext, and Plooto. Now, whenever we make a purchase, the team inputs its details into these programs. 

Aside from maintaining our financial system, they’ve also given us financial planning advice.

What is the team composition?

We work with Ben (Owner) and a CPA.

How did you come to work with Kinden Accounting & Advisory?

I found them on Google and reached out to them. Ben spoke with me personally, and he was friendly and helpful. 

He laid out a detailed plan of what they could do for us and gave us a reasonable quote.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about $20,000 CAD (approximately $16,000.)

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started in January 2021, and it’s ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The team is very organized — our finances are well-documented in our accounting system, and we can easily pull up any records we need. Kinden’s reports are almost always accurate.

We now have complete confidence in our records, which allows us to make financial forecasts based on the data Kinden inputs for us. We’ve actually never had clear finances before, so this is a first for our company.

Thanks to their guidance, our financial literacy has also really improved. We also like that we can be hands-off with them but still get excellent results.

How did Kinden Accounting & Advisory perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is great. Kinden has stood by their initial quote, so we’ve never experienced any price increase.

In terms of communication, we use email and phone calls. If we have any questions or requests, they’re very quick to respond.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We like that the system they created revolves around online accounting applications, so it was really easy for us to adapt to it. 

Additionally, when anything goes wrong, they’re easy to get in touch with. Their prices are also very reasonable. Overall, it’s been a great experience.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, they’ve done a great job.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I highly recommend them if you’re a small- to medium-sized business.
