The scope of work for the CSX project includes: 

• Architecture Design: Planning and designing a scalable architecture integrating Storm Crawler, Elasticsearch, and custom Java and Ruby applications.
• Development: Implementing the crawling mechanism using Storm Crawler, developing custom Java and Ruby applications for data processing and violation analysis.
• Integration: Ensuring seamless integration of all components to facilitate smooth data flow from crawling through to analysis and reporting.
• Testing and Optimization: Rigorous testing to ensure the system meets performance benchmarks and optimization of algorithms for efficient violation detection.
• Documentation: Providing comprehensive documentation including system architecture, API specifications, and operational manuals for maintenance and future reference.

• Regular health checks

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

KindaLab has some of the best engineering resources we have used. They are professional in their work and solutions. The work ethic is also very strong for the Kindalab team. They will go above and beyond to meet needs and requirements for the teams and products.

There was very little we identified as improvements for Kindalab. Any items that we had concern with Kindalab fixed promptly.

We have worked closely with our partners at KindaLab since we launched Quantum Leap about 7 years ago. The team at KindaLab has always been prompt, dependable, and courteous. They have a strong grasp of our mission and objectives, and they have been able to create an efficient product that is a valuable tool used by our benchmarking team.

KindaLab has adapted to our changing needs and feedback. They are proactive in addressing any technical debt to keep our system secure, scalable, and robust. They have also provided prompt support and maintenance and are effective in proposing improvements and enhancements over time.

KindaLab is very responsive and receptive to change requests. They strike a good balance of suggesting what may be most effective in terms of resource allocation while still maintaining the deliverable. They are pleasant to work with, responsive, and care deeply.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their deliverables are excellent. I deal with many business friends who seem to have software projects that fall apart either by going way over budget or half the deliverable in twice as much time. KindaLab is not like this at all- the end result works well, the projects are thought out for the long run, and they aim to please.

As with all software projects, sometimes things take longer than planned, but KindaLab is always quick to communicate if there are delays.

KindaLab developed our e-commerce platform from scracth, including our MVP + the evolution of the platform. It includes all the platform, all backend, frontend, devops, all the platform has been developed entirerly by KindaLab.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

KindaLab has delivered features according to schedule (of course with reasonable changes and adjustments, but all with great communication) for almost 2 years so far. The quality of the deliverables has been outstanding, we almost don't have bugs outside of the ones we discover during testing or early release.

Their communication has been great and we've had a pretty good understanding in therms of project management.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I would emphatize product quality among other benefits. As a founder, I've been pushing for lean approach and quick resolution, and even though they have adapted and deliverd with this culture, their obsession with quality has made a robust product considering the size of the team and the age of the platform.

Are there any areas for improvement or something KindaLab could have done differently?

To be honest, no. Our biggest struggle was regarding our need as founders to move quickly, and I think their focus in quality has helped us as a team to find the right balance between being fast and being good.
