What challenge were you trying to address with Kartum Infotech?

I reached out to Kartum to develop a mobile app for iOS and Android devices.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Kartum helped build out an app for iOS and Android, including wireframes and some development before the project was ultimately halted for reasons outside of their control. The app included features that allowed owners of certain types of vehicles to schedule services and view warranty/recall information.

What is the team composition? 

I only worked directly with Bhavesh (Entrepreneur-IT services, Kartum Infotech), but there were other developers working on the project as well. We generally spoke during evenings in the U.S., which allowed his team to complete tasks by the next day. 

How did you come to work with Kartum Infotech?

A friend of mine recommended them. 

How much have you invested with them?

We invested a little more than $20,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from around August 2018–April 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Even though the project wasn't completed, they provided very satisfactory work; I'd probably give them a rating of eight out of 10 overall. 

How did Kartum Infotech perform from a project management standpoint?

They met most deadlines and immediately worked on anything I flagged as urgent or needed to follow up on. There were some communication issues initially, but it was easier for me to work around those challenges than it might be for others since I'm also from India.

Other than that, their team provided a lot of helpful suggestions throughout the process. They were also over-accommodating, bending over backward for the customer, whether a task was completely doable on their end or not. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They deliver on whatever is asked of them and go out of their way to achieve client goals.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their communication skills could use some improvement. They could also be more honest when it comes to providing feedback about easier ways to achieve certain goals for clients.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Encourage their team to be proactive about providing feedback where they feel it would improve outcomes or simplify processes.
