Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the owner of Speak! Agency, a branding and marketing firm.

What challenge were you trying to address with Jones & Roth?

We wanted to find a vendor to assist with accounting and taxes.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We were doing business in multiple states, so they helped us prioritize which states to continue doing business in and consolidate our locations. They also handled our tax filings in multiple states.

What is the team composition?

We work with two primary points of contact, both of whom are CPAs. One is our project manager and the other handles the day-to-day work.

How did you come to work with Jones & Roth?

We were introduced to them through a referral. We were working with a larger accounting firm at the time, but we were too small of a business to garner enough attention.

We reached out to them and they visited our office to learn about how our business was structured. From there, they came back with recommendations about how to proceed, including which locations to continue working in and which to pull out of. Now, we do quarterly meetings and an annual review. They also do our taxes each year.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested about $30,000 with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement began in the summer of 2015.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They helped us identify our exposure and liability when doing business in multiple locations and advised us on how to reduce risk. They’ve taken on the burden of knowing all the intricacies of the tax law.

How did Jones & Roth perform from a project management standpoint?

They performed well. Their team was attentive and proactive in responding to changes in tax laws. They always delivered on time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I found their personal touch to be most impressive. They were also easy to work with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not that I can think of.
