The goal is to drive both donations and customers to Habitat ReStore locations, ultimately helping to fund affordable housing initiatives by local Habitats in Canada.

Deliverables:

• Develop key messaging that reflects the values of Habitat for Humanity and the community impact of ReStore.
• Develop a creative concept that resonates with the target audience and highlights the ReStore’s dual purpose: providing affordable home improvement items and funding Habitat for Humanity in Canada.

Jayme Cowley Media Co helped with offering professional guidance for producing this video and his knowledge and expertise were immensely important to the completion of this project in a timely manner which was a very tight deadline. Jayme and his team provided advice, editing, motion graphics and animations, voice over recording, stock research and we would not have been able to complete this without him!

Jayme and his editor Matt were amazing to work with. Both of them have a calm and collected personalities and spoke very confidently to what the asks were and gave realistic expectations. This helps ensure that we are all on the same page and the client is aware of what can or cannot be done given the timeline and any other restrictions such as budget. The project was delivered on time and client is happy to be able to present this on their expected deadline.

Jayme and Matt are very knowledgeable on everything that was needed for the project and took our general notes and turned it into a creative video. After a lengthy RFP period which Jayme assisted on, my production company was selected by The Canadian Council for Aviation and Aerospace to produce a large number of scripted training videos in both English and French. Jayme Cowley Media was responsible for the cinematography, which included lighting, camera work and hiring related crew. Filming occurred over 5 days, including a prep day for lighting, and 4 full filming days- in a large studio in Abbotsford.

Time was critical for us, so careful planning, advanced preparation and quick turnaround on setups was key. The client wanted a clean, modern look.

Jayme is an excellent communicator and planner, so he was prepared and we planned carefully together to ensure success. Occasionally we would have to change filming order or script to accommodate environmental delays beyond our control. Jayme was accommodating and good under pressure.

Jayme is an ideal partner for projects with a desire and the resources for high quality products. From careful planning to steady and quality execution, you’re going to get a product that you’re happy with. 

I do think this type of approach is not for every client, and perhaps those needing a quick and dirty approach are not going to get the best value here.

#OurAnxietyStories Podcast Recording. Jayme recorded two video episodes of our podcast filmed over the course of a day. Our podcast host interviewed two different people on set. The work included:

• Staging the set, including setting up podcast mics, equipment, and lighting.
• Recording/shooting and editing two 40m 'live' podcast episodes.
• Delivering completed episodes in both 16x9 and 9x16 formats.
• Modifying and animating opening and closing slides based off of supplied photoshop files.

The MindShift CBT App - Short-Form Video Ads. For this project, we aimed to increase downloads of our free anxiety management app, MindShift CBT, through relatable content based on current short-form video trends. Jayme looked over our Ad scripts and helped make modifications/substitutions where needed. We met a couple of times to discuss goals of project, set and shot planning, and voiceover options. He delivered: 

• Two scripted 90s Videos: Morning routines featuring the MindShift CBT app, as well as shots of actor getting ready for their day and walking their dog, etc.
• One 30s Video: App walkthrough / over-the-shoulder shots of the app interface.
• Voiceovers for videos: Coached actor through script while recording and delivered sound edits - voiceover explained morning routine, app features, and the app interface.
• Video Edits - Jayme patiently made edits and sent us new versions based on our requested changes. He was also accommodating when we needed last-minute edits of each video in 15s lengths.

Jayme took detailed notes from our meetings and followed up with them attached to emails shortly after. His communication was prompt, and he delivered video edits within a short timeframe despite having other shoots and projects going on. His project management was wonderful. For what projects/services did your company hire Jayme Cowley Media Co., and what were your goals?

I hired Jayme for all of the cinematography aspects of our film project. I was unable to be on location for this film shoot and wanted to hire someone I trusted to do a better job than I ever could with the cinematography and pre-production planning.

Jayme has incredible attention to detail and care in the planning and execution of the work he does and I had no doubt in my mind that he could easily get this job done.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I've worked with Jayme on a few productions and he has a flawless track record and has always filled the gaps in our company's skillset. It was an easy decision as I know I can trust Jayme to not only deliver what is being asked of him but to improve on that original vision.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.

We began with a meeting discussing our roles in the project. The project included six training films to educate city employees on better serving the homeless population. The overall process included pre-production planning, including film location scouting, along with script refining, casting, and budgeting. Production included lighting, sound, and filming.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

Jayme had specifically taken on all of the visual cinematography aspects but was also instrumental in budgeting, planning, and taking the project as a whole to a new level of quality. He created a realistic budget, addressed issues with the projects plan and made helpful solutions. He also guided our casting decisions and we can tell his years of experience with short film directing came into play here.

The feedback process was incredibly simple, when I had suggestions or concerns, I presented them to Jayme and we worked out each possible solution. If I ever felt anxious about the projects direction or was unsure about how to approach a problem I knew I could lean on Jayme for reassurance, direction and general help.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Because this training series was delivered to a client and screened internally we solely have to rely on client feedback. The client was incredibly happy and mentioned that feedback from the company was highly positive and that it met all of their needs. The client has hired Jayme and I on more than one occasion and to me that shows that the work Jayme created was of high quality.

Jayme worked with us through email, text, zoom, and by phone. Depending on the importance of the conversation, Jayme made the effort to create time for face-to-face conversations. His clear communication style and rock-solid confidence created ease for me throughout each step of the process.

If Jayme was available in the moment he would be there, if not, he would clearly communicate the earliest time he would be available. His response time was mostly instant or within minutes of initially reaching out to him.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were confident in their skills and consistently surprised me with how high quality they created the visuals. Jayme has very high standards and where I may have made suggestions that unintentionally may create lower results he insists on quality. Jayme strives for the highest quality work, and is persistent in doing so.

There are always places to improve, for any person or company. It's difficult to say where Cowley Media Co. could improve. Sometimes I would like to get a shot or set up done quickly and potentially sacrifice quality.

Jayme doesn't do things this way. he doesn't just get a setup or shot "in the can" without ensuring that it's of the highest quality. The project and it's success comes first and he does whatever he can to make sure it's above and beyond client expectations.
