Thanks to Jafton, we now have an app with all the features we wanted. We launched the app in 2021, and we now have 100,000 downloads in the App Store and a 4.8 rating with over 5,000 votes. We’re growing and very happy with the work Jafton did.

We are an international company providing engineering services in 10 countries. One of the main challenges we face was dealing with big data and not having a unified database for regulations and other documents in the energy industry in the countries we operate. The project aimed to better manage the New Nuclear and Nuclear Power Plant projects through an in-depth update of the technical documentary repositories. Jafton designed and developed data science solution with the following features: extracting, classifying, and rationalizing requirements for more than 100 documents to build a strong and dynamic requirements database.

• At the first phase, they detected and extracted requirements from a raw technical documentary.

We had a previous mobile application and web platform that we weren’t seeing much results with, so we needed a revamp. Our company was looking to improve the app through staff augmentation, and we hired Jafton.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Jafton has redesigned and rebuilt our mobile app. Although we initially wanted to improve it, the code wasn’t good enough to sustain, so the team rebuilt the app. We provided the wireframes and Figma materials, and they took it from there. The team also built an iPad application. 

The purpose of the mobile app is to serve our patients, acting as a client portal with telemedicine aspects that enable users to talk to a doctor live. We have a kiosk at our location where patients can sign up for the app. Jafton built in a health assessment feature to sign up, and the patient’s information reflects there when users sign in. Users can access their data on the patient portal and see a list of live doctors available on the app. 

Currently, they offer maintenance services for the app. Although we have an in-house team, we have an open contract with Jafton, and they come into the project as needed.

Since working with Jafton, close to 40% of our patients have signed up for the app when they come in. Previously, we only had 10% of our patients on the app.

They're very timely, which is one of the things we like most about them. We primarily communicate through email. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Jafton's strong engineering team distinguishes them from the competition. Moreover, we appreciate that they specialize in mobile development and have healthcare experience. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could have more AI expertise. At one point, we asked for AI features, and they didn't have that capability. Although it wasn't a must for our app, it would have been nice to have it. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Asking them to improve someone else's code isn't the best idea. We wasted some time at first trying to make Jafton work with our existing code, which wasn't efficient. Therefore, I'd recommend starting from scratch because the team knows what they're doing.

We were trying to develop our mobile app. Our idea was to create a marketplace with livestreaming capabilities because a video-related experience was key for our business. Thus, we were looking for the best vendor to help us out with that.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Jafton has helped us develop our mobile app. Initially, we provided them with some designs and wireframes we had done internally, and they used them to develop the app we needed. Now, the app is available on the App Store and Google Play.

Our app’s core features are its marketplace and listing capabilities. On it, users can post items and sell them. Still, its main feature is the livestreaming capability. By using it, vendors can record live videos and make sales in real time. They can also post videos to generate engagement.

Other features of our app include account verification, multi-layer security, and payment processing. Moreover, we’re getting into the Web3 space, where we’ll sell NFTs. However, those capabilities are currently under test mode.

Although the project hasn’t been perfect, Jafton has almost always met our deadlines. We’ve communicated with them via Slack, and we’re now switching to Discord. Jafton has been very accommodating to this request, helping us switch their team to Discord.

Jafton’s expertise in technology is outstanding. They know the livestreaming space very well, which has been the key to our success. Additionally, they have great developers who deliver very strong work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Jafton’s developers could improve their English level. Although the project managers are very good, it would be great if Jafton had more English-speaking developers so that we could communicate directly with them. They understand English, but they don’t speak it very well.

If you’re looking to develop an app related to livestreaming or social networking, Jafton is very strong in those areas, so you can leverage their expertise. Additionally, provide them with clear wireframes so that they can understand our project better.

Although we provided Jafton with some documentation, they actually helped us create more based on the requirements and information they had gathered during the discovery phase. The custom training algorithm is one of the best ones in the industry. Overall, this app has helped us become a successful company.

Additionally, the quality of Jafton’s work was excellent. We hired an in-house development team after the project. This team did a code review and told us that the code written by Jafton was very good, as were their designs.

How did Jafton perform from a project management standpoint?

Jafton’s project managers were very detail-oriented, which I really liked. Although I didn’t work directly with their developers, our in-house team said they did a great job. We had biweekly calls, during which they provided us with reports on the project’s progress. As for collaboration tools, we used Jira, Slack, and Trello.

Jafton was very quick and customer-oriented, as well as very responsive; we were able to get in touch with them during weekends, which was impressive.

No. We had a very pleasant experience working with Jafton. The only reason we ended the engagement was that we were building our in-house development team; it was a better financial decision for us.

Jafton usually delivers on time. We sometimes have delays, but those aren’t significant and are caused by requirement changes. Our communication is very good. We have almost daily Zoom calls and plan sprint cycles together. We also use Slack for communication and Jira for project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Jafton is very flexible, which is very good. They can add people to our team whenever we need it because they have good available talent. Finding good talent is difficult. Still, Jafton has a very strong team, and they can find developers very quickly, which is impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Some of Jafton’s resources are in different countries, so time zones are sometimes inconvenient, which could be improved. Other than that, I can’t think of anything else they could improve on.
