Please describe your company and your position there.

I head up the Digital Performance team at the University of Sydney which is responsible for owned and paid digital performance including UX/UI expertise across the audience journey, management of website personalisation and optimisation, marketing data and analytics, and digital content governance.

For what projects/services did your company hire Insighten?

We were implementing a customer data platform (CDP) and needed MarTech and data expertise when a key team member left the organisation. Insighten were able to step in and help us deliver the first phase of implementation and provide expertise and guidance along the way.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I spoke to numerous agencies and no one could provide the expertise I needed without having to also charge me for account management and overall project management. I reached out to my network on LinkedIn and a contact was able to recommend Gagan (and Insighten) to me. Gagan demonstrates a strong expertise in this area, and he agreed to help us with the implementation.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

Gagan stepped in immediately to augment our team and became the data expert/lead to work with our internal teams (both digital and ICT) to help deliver our initial implementation.

He also played a key role in upskilling our team, driving forward discussions around consent management and tagging set up and helping us document the benefits of this new piece of marketing technology. Gagan has also worked with us to deliver a backlog of future use cases for our CDP.

We worked directly with Gagan who is there MarTech / data expert.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We successfully delivered the first implementation of the CDP and we've got a robust backlog to start tackling over the next 6-12 months.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had regular work in progress meetings (weekly) which alternated between in person and remote. Gagan would also regularly attend other ad hoc meetings as needed with internal staff, the CDP vendor and our digital media agency. Gagan acted as an extension of our team.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Gagan is extremely knowledgeable and could always make time to discuss the project, challenges or way forward.

For what projects/services did your company hire Insighten?

Insighten has been responsible for the design and development of an Analytics Module for user to view key performance indicators against their quotes and product orders, as well as benchmark select data against similar cohort of users.

What were your goals for this project?

In order for accurate benchmarking to occur, users must be cleanly separated into distinct UserTypes and then a combination of distinct products, pricing information and geographic classifications used to further classify each kind of benchmark measure by UserType.

The technical issue surrounding the design and development of the analytics module is that not all entities operate within recognisable boundaries, and the data is reliant on accurate dissemination of UserType. Data anonymisation and security is of paramount concern, and as such, extensive experimentation and testing has been required.

Design of the requisite database architecture for the solution to monitor the quotes, leads and sales of a user, and provide the benchmarking capability for them to compare against.

I have worked with them extensively on prior projects.

It has been an ongoing collaboration, Insighten have led the design of this piece of work and in the engagement of the lead contractors for the development.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project is presently under development, there have been no issues with implementation of the design.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Insighten has shown to be proactive and to take ownership as a development partner. Responsive and timely communication.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I'm impressed with the contribution in IP that they have made to the design of this module, which has in turn created improvements in the rest of the platform.
