The scope of work involved designing and developing a WordPress-based website for The Sommpour as the foundation for a wine education and content platform. This included creating a homepage and multiple inner pages covering study programs, study circles, resources, and general information. The project required establishing clear navigation and page structure to support diverse user journeys, from casual readers to advanced students. Key deliverables included front-end development of all pages, implementation of layouts based on approved designs, and integration of WooCommerce to enable registrations and payments for courses and sessions. The site was built in a staging environment within GoDaddy and handed over with full access upon project closure.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project resulted in a fully developed WordPress website hosted within our GoDaddy environment, with all core pages built and WooCommerce functionality enabled for registrations and payments. The site was successfully handed over with complete administrative control, including access to hosting, backend systems, and email configuration. While the platform was not launched due to outstanding UX/UI concerns, the build provides a usable foundation that can be further refined and scaled in the next phase.

Project management was largely reactive. To maintain alignment and visibility, I introduced regular weekly checkpoints, as there was no structured cadence set up initially. The team was generally responsive to messages and implemented requested changes promptly. However, timelines extended significantly beyond the original expectations, and the project did not meet the intended launch schedule. There was limited proactive course correction to bring delivery back on track. In terms of responsiveness, while updates were provided when requested, I was also advised at one point that I was reaching out too frequently for status updates. This made it challenging to maintain consistent visibility into progress. Overall, communication existed, but project management lacked proactive structure, ownership, and forward planning, particularly as the project approached launch.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The team was responsive and willing to implement feedback quickly, and they handled project closure professionally by transferring all assets and access without dispute. Their willingness to disengage cleanly and ensure a smooth handover stood out and made it easier to regain full control of the project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Imajine could have done differently?

Stronger ownership of UX/UI and usability would have made a significant difference. More proactive guidance—challenging inputs, suggesting improvements, and addressing usability concerns early—would have helped avoid issues surfacing late in the project. Clearer project management with defined timelines, structured updates, and earlier course correction would also improve delivery. Finally, maintaining a consistently professional and solution-focused tone when clients raise repeated concerns would lead to a more constructive and collaborative working relationship.

Imajine was a word of mouth referral from a friend, for whom Imajine had developed their complete web presence. We really liked their style of work, hence chose to go with them.

Scope: Logo design, Stationery design, Product packaging graphic design, E-commerce web portal UI/UX design and development.

Project Steps:

1. Logo design - They gathered our requirement and shared a couple of design options. We co-founders had specific suggestions, and they revised the designs and shared few more options. The new set of designs captured clearly everything we wanted and there was one particular logo we all liked and chose it as our logo.
2. Using this logo they designed stationery and product packaging graphic designs for us. Here too they had shared a couple of options. In fact we liked all the shared designs.
3. UI/UX mock up design for our e-store - They shared two set of mock up design of which one design was liked by all of us. We wanted couple of elements on this design which they implemented quickly.
4. Web portal development Technologies - WooCommerce web portal was developed for us. They also took care of domain registration and Linux web hosting services. Our portal was built using PHP, MySQL, Web animation using jQuery and JavaScript. They integrated our local payment gateway. The website was made responsive for the smaller devices and popular browsers. They delivered a good pagespeed ranking for our site. Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

From the delivery perspective, their work is exceptional. We were expecting a usual ecommerce website. We were pleasantly surprised to see an animation in our web portal which elevated the complete experience for our visitors. They are truly out of the box creators.

We had weekly stand-up calls with the team. Since none of us are technically sound, Imajine would simplify the process and explain. They may not always rush to our speed, they would clearly mention their timeline and has always delivered work on schedule.

They are experienced professionals and all the service received was tailor made to our ethos.

10xDS engaged Imajine in the first project to build our brand and logo during which we found them extremely focused, productive and delivering quality work. This gave us the confidence and comfort in awarding the second phase - website development to Imajine.

Based on our discussions, the team provided us with a couple of mock-up designs, which post deliberations and revisions resulted in the final design which was adopted in developing the content management system - WordPress corporate website.

The content was provided by 10xDS and post development the site was tested across different browsers and devices and deployed to the live domain. Imajine helped us to optimize the site for search engines and helped in enhancing the page speed of the site.

The brand identity that Imajine helped us create was unique, powerful, and appreciated by all stakeholders. The 10xDS website was quick, clear and crisp which helped in getting listed in the top of search results.

Post the initial heavy lifting discussions, we moved into weekly project discussions that helped understand the progress of the engagement and provide solutions to any challenges that came up. In addition, we had a project milestone based stakeholder connect sessions as well.

The dedication and commitment of the leaders at Imajine to get things right from the beginning and embedding themselves as an extended team was the x-factor that 10xDS leadership appreciated throughout the engagement.

Our website had to be updated to Wordpress. After the initial meeting regarding scope of work we had regular contact on progress. It was specially good to see that on the sometimes repetitive change requests from our side, Imajine kept us up to date with a professional and consistent approach to communication.
