I’m the CEO of an advanced materials company located in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

What challenge were you trying to address with Imaginal Ventures?

We needed an on-call business advisor to help us get through a difficult time with the company.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Imaginal Ventures followed a stepwise process where they learned about our company, assessed our culture, and more. They then came up with recommendations we could implement. They also trained our management, but they didn’t train our employees. The team continues to provide us with coaching and advisory services.

How did you come to work with Imaginal Ventures?

I was referred to them by someone from our network. When I met with them, they learned about the problems of the company. Then, they presented the types of coaching and advisory services they could offer and how other companies benefited from their services. After that, we decided we’d work with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent over $50,000 CAD (approximately $39,500 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working with them since January 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

A number of their key deliverables have become management tools that are continuously being used at the company. Overall, they provide really good management documentation that has enabled us to run our company.

How did Imaginal Ventures perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve performed well from a project management standpoint, and we’ve communicated as much as we needed to accomplish the job. We’re in touch through email, telephone calls, and video conferencing. They’re very good with email follow-ups, but we don’t use any formal tools.

What did you find most impressive about them?

There are a lot of firms that offer consulting services, but I haven’t seen another firm offer what they do. In fact, Imaginal Ventures serves as an extension of our team in our management areas.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I like working with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Call them and learn more about their services. Imaginal Ventures is friendly and honest, and they'll point you in the right direction. You can’t approach them with every business problem you have, but once you find what they’re good at, you’ll start working with them. You don’t have to worry because they’re very clear about the services they offer, and they’re great at it.
