I am Syed Laeeq Peeran, Founder and C.O.O of STRATAGEM Venture - Management Consulting Group based in Pakistan. We are strategizing, designing, consulting, developing, managing, marketing and analyzing, our integrated team works as an extension of yours to improve your impact, your usability, and your customer conversion. Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Ideofuzion popped up on my radar in late November 2019. I was attending a conference related to startups in Islamabad, Pakistan, where I met the Ideofuzion team, talked with them for hours about their blockchain R&D and their experience by implementing blockchain to their clients in various industries like medicare, supply-chain, agri-tech and so on. I was taken in by their exhaustive research, which was only matched by their integrity of the mission, and the diligence to see it through. They are one of the most competent blockchain leaders in the industry, innovative mindset and cooperative team. Their insightful approach to the blockchain sector made Strategem Venture partnered with them in February 2020. This partnership is aimed at establishing and maintaining business development, marketing and new opportunities for both the companies.

Companies with strong cultures tend to have approachable leadership and a clear strategy where everyone understands their role. When culture starts to click, you see the owners, directors, employees all being on the same page.

What challenge were you trying to address with Ideofuzion Pvt Ltd.?

We were looking for a development partner who would be a subject matter expert. During our vetting process, we also wanted to make sure the communication was crystal clear and there were no delays.

What was the scope of their involvement?

There have been a number of different deliverables and we’ve worked with Ideofuzion Pvt Ltd. across a number of different projects. They’ve worked with us on platform development and enhancement of a trading system, as well as building and deploying coin servers which involved private and public blockchain development.

The team has also developed smart contracts that would be used for third party platforms, everything from remittances to voting applications. Lastly, they’ve supported us with our sports tech initiatives. They usually take our clients’ design ideas and implement them into builds.

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with other teammates in the past, but Ali (CEO) is my primary point of contact.

How did you come to work with Ideofuzion Pvt Ltd.?

They were referred to us by a third-party when we were looking to outsource some initial work around a specific smart contract development project. I reached out to some people who I already knew. Unfortunately, they didn’t have the bandwidth, so they referred us to Ali.

We saw a team leader in Ali who had a good brag sheet and a history of being able to successfully build and deploy mobile and web-based platforms within the capital market and FinTech areas.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement began in the summer of 2017 and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I’m always ultimately pleased with the outcomes. You don’t always get what you want the first time around and sometimes it’s because of poor communication or misunderstandings on our end. Once communication issues have been resolved, we’re usually very happy with the results.

How did Ideofuzion Pvt Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?

The turnaround times are usually very low because that’s just how the team works, so we know that when we’re told something is gonna take a week, we can be sure that it will take a week or even less. They have a tendency to underpromise and overdeliver, which is another reason why we really do enjoy working with them.

We use a number of platforms and tools to assign and track tasks, including Basecamp, Asana, and Microsoft Projects. The team is fairly flexible and doesn’t require us to stick to one platform.

Communication depends on the scope of the project. If the clients have a team lead or a project manager who has been mandated to communicate with all stakeholders, they communicate with Ideofuzion Pvt Ltd. Otherwise, all communication flows through us.

One challenge we do have is the time difference between us. I have to speak with them at 3 pm my time, which ends up being 2 am their time. It’s not something that can be changed, unfortunately. But, on the flip side, sometimes when we have clients that are in Asia or Europe, they’re close in timezones, so it does make it easier for the clients.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed by their availability. I’ve worked with a lot of teams that, at a certain time of the day, step away from their desk and that’s it. Ideofuzion Pvt Ltd. puts in extra time and effort because they know that there are deadlines and timelines to be met. 

When they’re ahead of schedule, which happens a lot, they focus on other tasks. When something happens and we need to get in contact with Ali and his team, they are much more responsive than most, if not all, of the other outsourced development teams I’ve worked with in the past.

Ali is a great communicator with excellent knowledge and a solid background in technology and finance. He brings a lot of subject matter expertise to the table, so it’s a pleasure to work with him. Once I explain something to him and there are no questions or concerns, I know that it’s going to get done. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Ideofuzion Pvt Ltd. is capable of dealing with clients who have varying levels of expertise. If you want to get technical in discussions, they’re receptive to that. If you want to stay high-level and talk about conceptual aspects, they’re also very open to that. 

Speak at the level you’re comfortable communicating at, and they will accommodate you. In terms of design — and this has nothing to do with Ali or his team — use a different designer who will think about the UX, and then hand the design over to the developers and engineers.

For what projects/services did your company hire Ideofuzion Pvt Ltd., and what were your goals?

The build of the complete product was managed and executed by Ideofuzion. The product is a complex one and has numerous nuances in functionalities, the team at Ideofuzion understood it well and executed it. The team owned the delivery of the product. They also suggested improvements to the product which were well received. I do not see them as a separate team to us, just an extension of us.

Time, cost and quality. We had the code audited externally, it passed with flying colours.

We had 3x week stand-ups to ensure the project was on track. Slack, MS Teams, Jira, MS Project

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are fun to work with. They have great innovative devs who just want to get the job delivered and to a high standard.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Second time working with them. Definitely a change in communication style from last time, tighter management of dates required.
