I am the president of a nonprofit based in Panama.

What challenges were you trying to address with Hypernova Labs?

We needed mobile and web development services for our telethon. It is our biggest crowdfunding event and one of the biggest in the country. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We have worked on two projects with them. The first and most important one has been the development of an iOS and web application for our telethon. The purpose of the app is to work as a communication and fundraising tool connected to a local payment processor. We have worked with the team on these projects for three years. They did the initial development and have made adjustments every year, since the image and details of the event change. 

The second project is a dashboard developed for one of the events that allows us to gather all the raised funds information. Different collaborators can then upload that information, and visualize it in real-time.

We have worked with around five people.

How did you come to work with  Hypernova Labs?

Hypernova Labs came to mind when I was asking for price quotations because I knew some of their members personally. However, our final decision was going to be based on an evaluation that not only considered prices but also skills, response times, and other aspects. In the end, they were selected after this process. 

How much have you invested in them?

Our nonprofit has invested between $20,000–$30,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in 2017, and continue our collaboration.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The app’s main goal is to be able to generate a communication channel and transparency with our donors, with them being able to monitor their fundraising efforts. With Hypernova Labs’ work, we have achieved that. The app also allows users to see information about the shows during the telethon and that also has had good results. 

The dashboard has made everything more efficient. It has allowed us to consolidate information and save time. Before having the dashboard, we had to open numerous screens on different websites.

How did Hypernova Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

The team has shown great commitment and is very strict with deadlines.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their most impressive aspects are their availability, commitment, and great skills. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They are terrific and have a solid relationship with Microsoft technologies, but I think they could extend the range of technologies they work with.

I am a solutions architect at an international private bank.

What challenges were you trying to address with Hypernova Labs?

We contacted them because we needed support for our development projects.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Hypernova Labs provides front- and backend development support. A lot of our projects are based on Cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure, and AWS. The framework they use is Angular, which is a standard established by the bank. 

What is the team composition?

We work with about 14 people in total, although it can increase depending on the project and urgency.

How did you come to work with  Hypernova Labs?

We were looking for a company that knew how to work using agile methodologies and scrum. We evaluated 3 different service providers and had several interviews with them. It was the first project of its kind and we had high expectations. It was very important that the company we chose would be flexible and could adapt to changes. So after a series of evaluations, we selected Hypernova Labs for the project.

So we had a first project, and as a result, we have been working with developers from Hypernova Labs both in front- and backend developments in different projects for some years now.

How much have you invested in them?

We’ve spent between $180,000–$200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them six years ago in 2015 and our collaboration is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our collaboration with them has allowed us to complete projects that we wouldn’t have been able to carry out ourselves. They’ve become a long-term collaborative partner. The continuity has made our projects more dynamic.

How did Hypernova Labs  Perform from a project management standpoint?

They have different project management channels to make sure that there are no delays.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have been great at creating proposals that match our specific needs. We often have challenging projects, but they’ve been able to meet our requirements and deliver on time. They’ve always been very honest about our expectations and their ability to deliver.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could assign someone to improve each project. That would provide an added value, especially given the fact that we’re working with them on a long-term basis.

I am an IT manager at a regional bank.

What challenges were you trying to address with Hypernova Labs?

We needed to develop an app that would allow us to integrate the work of our employees in the credit card sales area and register the number of credit cards delivered.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Hypernova Labs developed a mobile app for us. The team built a native Android app. They included key functionality including cloud services and online messaging. They worked in .NET, HTML, SQL, and more.

What is the team composition?

We worked with about 6 people at the beginning. Later on in the project, we counted on 2–3 people more for project management.

How did you come to work with Hypernova Labs?

We did some research on local companies that had experience with similar projects. During this research, we found Hypernova Labs by reading about them in a newspaper. They caught our attention so we invited them to participate in the selection process. 

They ended up being selected because we felt like we clicked. Hypernova Labs understood our needs right away and showed great skills on topics that were very important for us such as security.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project began in 2018 and is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The results were good overall. The general management of the bank showed great appreciation for the project. The project also allowed great improvements on the company’s automation processes, including activating credit cards. This process used to take 2 days, and now only takes 20 minutes.

How did Hypernova Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

In the beginning, they were not very used to the scrum methodologies that we used. However, they were able to adapt very quickly and evolve in this regard.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their flexibility, good service, and understanding of the business part of the process impressed us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

As I mentioned at first it took us some time to get on track on the project management part although after they assigned project managers specially dedicated to that everything improved.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the VP of technology and innovation at a construction retail group based in Panama. We have two brands in the home improvement and construction sectors with 43 stores all over the country. The country is also currently expanding to the financial sector.

My area is in charge of development, infrastructure, and networks for our headquarters, warehouses, and stores. I also am in the areas of technical support and e-commerce.

What challenge were you trying to address with Hypernova Labs?

About three years ago, the company started with a digital transformation process. We used to work with legacy systems that had been implemented more than 20 years ago and that were no longer in the market, so we were looking to implement new tools, processes, and functionalities.

Hypernova Labs has been a key partner for us through this process.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Before this, Hypernova Labs developed our first mobile app and other innovative projects that included implementing a SaaS platform.

One of the more recent projects included a platform for our sales team that allows them to consult inventory, request quotes, and billing from mobile devices. Another one involved the update of our mobile apps.

During the pandemic, a spike in usage forced us to evolve as quickly as possible. Our apps weren’t transactional. One of the platforms was built using Aludra.

What is the team composition?

As we’ve had numerous projects, we’ve likely worked with around 15 people.

The company has been working with us for a long time.

Our ongoing engagement with Hypernova Labs started in 2013.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve achieved several important milestones. We were able to launch a mobile app that met international quality standards in just five months. This digital transformation process has allowed us to importantly increase our functionalities and integrate our new developments, which has served us a lot of time and made everything more efficient.

They’ve been a key partner in software development and digital expansion.

How did Hypernova Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

Their team uses Agile and Scrum methodologies. All of the projects have an assigned ScrumMaster. We have fluid and transparent communication through multiple channels. The projects always had clear scheduling. Whenever something is delayed, they’re always up to date.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their openness to listen to our needs is noteworthy. They’re also flexible and available to take advantage of other developments for the creation of new products. Their ability to innovate is outstanding.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There are times we encounter setbacks, but they let us know about them. They’ve constantly improved with time.
