I’m the deputy manager of management information system (MIS) at Lahore Waste Management Company.

What challenge were you trying to address with hybytes?

There was an issue with our GPS. I needed a company to support us in configuring an external device by connecting the biometric machine.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

hybytes provided us with an IoT device that we use for GPS. They briefed me about their instrument and provided me with a software with all the solutions. The tool allowed us to keep the attendance of our workers and pinpoint their position. It was a big challenge for us to manage the GPS because we have more than 100 devices, and we were going to buy more than 500 biometric machines. 

In addition, when we procured their devices in the first stage, we felt there was a deficiency of GPS with iClock 700, which is not fully operational — we were using a VSM module, and it wasn’t working fine. We tried to claim this issue with our previous provider, and it didn’t get solved. I knew the owner, and I called him. I asked him if there’s an IoT device with GPS features that easily configures the iClock 700 biometric machine. He was delighted that he had a machine to support us.

I worked with two members of their team.

How did you come to work with hybytes?

They were referred to us by one of our HR people. After I contacted them, they suggested many solutions for our issues and were happy to help me.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from April–June 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I was delighted with their solutions. We’re using their IoT device with our biometric machine, and we got our objective — our machines are fully functional. This IoT device also helped me manage the company overall, and it’s working great for us. Working with them has been very fruitful because there hasn’t been any downtime.

How did hybytes perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management was good; I enjoyed their work, and I was happy with the communication. In terms of tools, we used phone and email.  

What did you find most impressive about them?

They provided full services, which is outstanding. I have a lot of experience with other companies that don’t, but hybytes offers exceptional benefits.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don't think there's anything they can improve on — everything went well.

I’m the platform manager at Wrap, a digital agency.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with hybytes?

We needed help with software development and consultancy because we didn’t have the resources in-house.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

hybytes provided us with software development services, as well as with cloud infrastructure consulting and implementation. They used Angular for the frontend and Etsy to host the product. For the backend, they used Java and Springboard.

Additionally, they implemented two different APIs, one of which was GraphQL. Behind that, they used AWS as the cloud provider.

For the Dev Ops side, they used CloudFormation and Terraform. We also used CircleCI and Jenkins for our pipeline and code artifacts. Finally, they used ECS, Docker, and Kubernetes to make our application in containers.

What is the team composition?

We worked with about 25 people from hybytes on three different products.

How did you come to work with hybytes?

We found them on the Amazon portal because they were AWS partners.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $3 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from January 2020–April 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

hybytes completed the projects successfully. They were professional and helpful, and they knew what needed to be done. We’ll definitely hire them again in the future.

How did hybytes perform from a project management standpoint?

hybytes responded and delivered on time. We worked in two-week sprints and used Slack, Monday.com, Confluence, and Jira to communicate and create tickets.

What did you find most impressive about them?

hybytes always knew what the problems were beforehand, and they started working on them before we even told them there was a problem. They were knowledgeable, proactive, responsible, and responsive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

hybytes’ documentation process takes a month to make sure every detail is taken care of. That was something we didn’t expect because we had never worked with a big company like theirs.

Work with them — I’ve referred three people to them.
