Founded in 2015 by a former Perkins & Will IT Manager, Huntertech brings enterprise IT experience to firms that can't justify an internal department but deserve one. We've supported clients from AEC firms to provincial healthcare to a Wall Street bank. Most clients are fully onboarded within a day to a week, depending on complexity. Here's what that looks like in practice. It starts with a conversation. We kick things off with an intro call and a short presentation so you understand exactly what we're doing and why. From there we handle the paperwork — quote and contract via email, no lengthy back-and-forth. Then we get to work — mostly without bothering you. We collect existing credentials and documentation from your current provider, audit your Microsoft 365 licensing, and deploy our RMM agent and security tools across your environment. For clients in Calgary or Vancouver we'll do a site visit — walk the office, photograph the setup, and document what's actually there versus what's supposed to be there. We fill out our documentation portal ourselves. Occasionally we'll ask a question, but our goal is to figure things out rather than hand you homework. We tell you what we find as we find it. Missing DMARC configuration, computers running Windows Home instead of Pro, licensing gaps, problem hardware — you'll hear about it as we go, not in a report three weeks later. For anything major we'll flag it and get your sign-off before acting. By the end of week one you have: A fully documented environment, security tools deployed, licensing cleaned up, and an IT team that already knows your business.

Our sweet spot is managed IT contracts — becoming the dedicated IT team for businesses that are ready to stop doing it themselves or are fed up with a provider that doesn't understand their industry. That usually looks like one of two situations. The internal handoff. A principal or office manager has been wearing the IT hat alongside their real job for years. They've kept things running, but they know the gaps are growing — security, compliance, outdated hardware, software that nobody's audited in years. They're ready to hand it off to someone who will actually own it. The provider switch. A business has an MSP but the relationship isn't working. Tickets go unanswered, nobody knows their industry, and every project comes with a surprise invoice. They want a partner who treats their business like it matters. In both cases we're not looking for one-off projects. We're looking for long-term relationships where we can learn your business, stay ahead of your problems, and grow with you. We also work with mid-sized firms that have an internal IT manager but need to free up their time. We handle the day-to-day helpdesk and end-user support so their IT lead can focus on infrastructure, projects, and strategy instead of password resets and printer problems. We prefer real communication over ticket queues. Most day-to-day interaction happens over Microsoft Teams, phone, or in person — whichever works best for you. When something needs to be tracked we create the ticket ourselves so you don't have to navigate a portal or learn a new system. Getting support is simple. Message our group support chat or reach us directly. That's it. No ticket numbers to look up, no forms to fill out, no waiting for an automated acknowledgement before a human sees it. We respond fast. Our SLA is 2 hours, but most requests are answered in under an hour. For issues that require working on a machine we'll schedule around you — we're not going to disrupt your day without asking first. We stay ahead of problems. Every client gets a quarterly check-in to review what's happening in the environment and address anything on your mind. Once a year we sit down for a planning session — upcoming projects, hardware lifecycle, goals for the year. IT should be part of your business planning, not an afterthought. After hours. If it's important to you, it's important to us. We have after-hours emergency support for the situations that can't wait until morning. The goal is to feel like an internal IT team: accessible, accountable, and already invested in your business.
