Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the CEO of Estudologia. We are an educational technology company and have a platform for recognizing cognitive patterns and proposing study schedules in order to accelerate learning skills.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Humanoide?

We needed help with development and branding as well as UI/UX for our platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement? 

They’ve helped in every aspect of the Estudologia, from naming the business, branding and logo design, to fundamental functioning of the system. They are developing every aspect, including the frontend, backend, and database. They used Ruby for the backend, Ember for frontend, and PostgreSQL for the database.

What is the team dynamic?

They assigned 4 people to this project,  including 2 developers and 2 designers.

How did you come to work with Humanoide?

I was introduced to one of the partners by a mutual friend. I told him about my project and we started working together from there.

How much have you invested in them?

I’ve spent around $40,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I began working with them in January, and the project is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I am extremely satisfied with the quality of their work. The website is fluid, beautiful, light, and fast. Our users have been enjoying it, and we have received many compliments on it. We are in the process of being funded by an educator in Brazil. There are a lot of prospects, and she is interested in the software. I believe this a result of their hard and good work.

How did Humanoide perform from a project management standpoint?

They have been great, and have delivered everything within the timeline. They used OKR Software. We had a meeting every 3—3.5 months to see if objectives were being accomplished, and we used Scrum methodology for Agile development.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are very human and work closely with their clients, especially with me. We have meetings every week, where I explain details of the project, and they embrace everything about it. They are awesome. The team is great; very kind and friendly to everyone.

Are there any areas they could improve?

As systems constantly need to be refactorized, code improvement is always possible, but I don’t think they could improve their initial output by very much.
