What challenge were you trying to address with Helicoid Studio S.A.S.?

We’d launched recently, and we wanted to convey our message to our potential clients through a website and branding.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Helicoid Studio helped us design our brand and a website that goes with it. We sat down with Jose (Co-Founder & Creative Director) and explained what we wanted to achieve in terms of a high-level approach. We talked about what we wanted to represent and our target customers.

Jose went away and designed a couple of corporate branding examples, including our logo. From there, we had some reiterations until we got to a final branding. For the logo, we went through 3–5 design proposals. He determined our color scheme and look and feel, which would transcend into our marketing, emails, and website.  

After Helicoid Studio finished the branding, they moved on to the website. We had previously designed a Wix website that was unpublished. Helicoid Studio took that skeleton and completed it, making the look and feel consistent with the branding they had created. We gave them the materials we wanted on the site, and they designed the features and look.

Additionally, they did our initial SEO and set up our website’s analytics. Choosing the keywords was a two-way process; we gave them some keywords, and they came back with more suggestions. Going forward, we’ll likely revisit the SEO with Helicoid Studio in due course.

How did you come to work with Helicoid Studio S.A.S.?

I used to have another business that got acquired a couple of years ago, and Helicoid Studio had done the website for us; I’d originally found them on Wix. I’d always kept in contact with them but hadn’t had any requirements. We approached them as soon as we knew we were starting a new company. 

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $5,000–$10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from October 2021–January 2022. 

We’ll reengage them in a couple of months to do enhancements and tweaks on the website, and they’re always available if we need small changes.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I’m happy with the product Helicoid Studio designed, and I’ve been told our clients like it. The people I’ve spoken to recognize that it’s professionally done and makes us look like a more established company than we are. We’ve also had hundreds of visits to our website.

The biggest compliment to Helicoid Studio’s work is that the website doesn’t look out of place. Ultimately, we didn’t want to stick out as an amateur firm or seem smaller than we are. Overall, Helicoid Studio was on point and absolutely delivered what we wanted.

How did Helicoid Studio S.A.S. perform from a project management standpoint?

They delivered on time and within expectations; they didn’t overcommit. More importantly, they had a back and forth process, making sure we liked every part before they carried on.

We typically communicated through WhatsApp and used Monday.com for project management. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

What most impressed me was how well Helicoid Studio understood our requirements. While many providers pretend to listen, the Helicoid Studio team genuinely listened to us, understood what we needed, and then made that into a product. 

For example, we loved the logo straight away because it encompassed what we wanted, which is a testament to them. If they hadn’t been listening, they wouldn’t have gotten to that result as quickly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There were genuinely no areas of improvement. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

We were organized for our collaboration with Helicoid Studio and knew what we wanted. Doing the work beforehand and understanding what kind of approach and content you want saves a lot of time. If you do the homework up front, you’ll get the product very quickly when you engage with Helicoid Studio.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the HR director of Serendipia, a medical speciality center in Quito, Ecuador.

For what projects/services did your company hire Helicoid Studio S.A.S., and what were your goals?

Our center needed help developing the brand concept and corporate image. Helicoid Studio helped us with the branding in the most satisfying way.

SOLUTION

How did you select Helicoid Studio S.A.S.?

We had previously worked with Helicoid Studio, obtaining outstanding results. Their professionalism and creativity made us return to them for this project.

Describe the scope of their work in detail, including any steps and the final deliverables.

First we discuss about the meaning of our name, then the mission and vision of the company. Helicoid Studio listened to what we wanted our image to represent and, with these in mind, help us define our target persona. Once stablished the concept of Serendipia and the customers, they started designing our logo.

We had to have some meetings about this. In every gathering, the designers show us their ideas and sketches, ask for our feedback and return the next time with the modifications needed. After the logo was finished, Helicoid Studios designed a corporate image manual.

All guidelines, elements of our image and tips for use where included in this handbook. They arranged a meeting with us to show us through the guidebook and how to use it. For us it is important that even though the project has finished, their are always at reach if we need help sorting trough the guidebook.

We worked with José Vargas, designer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our corporate image was successfully stablished. We feel our brand is strong, that it really represent what we seek in our company. Also, the guidebook Helicoid provided has been a great tool for our marketing campaigns.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We had almost weekly meetings, depending on the stage and the availability of every part. Each meeting was arrange by the designer, who also directed the meeting and always sent us via e-mail, after the meeting, a summary of everything that was discussed and the agreements made.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their creativity, commitment, and kindness were impressive. They really understood our necessities and fulfilled, exceeding every expectation, the work we needed.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I don't think so. The great results we obtained in this project is equal to the excellent work we have received from Helicoid Studio in previous occasions.
