I’m a French fashion photographer based in Paris.

My goal was to know what the market for French photographers in Japan looked like to expand my business to that region.

I wanted to attract new customers in Japan.

How did you select this vendor?

I have known Jean-Chretien (Founder & CEO, HASHI Consulting Japan) for a long time—I worked as a photographer for his previous company.

The project was focused on evaluating the demand for French fashion photographers in Japan. They explored if the market was ready to accept foreign photographers, if there were any entry barriers, and who I should contact first.

The project was managed by Jean-Chretien.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They found that the Japanese market was very crowded and difficult to enter for several reasons, including language issues and the need to establish long-term relationships before starting a contract. In a nutshell, it appears to be an interesting but challenging market.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I had regular contact with Jean-Chretien. The workflow was very smooth.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was impressed by their reactivity and the way they were able to make contacts in an industry that's outside their core skillset.

Are there any areas for improvement?

For a company of their size, the work was of good quality. It would have helped if they'd also had representatives in other Asian countries, such as Korea or China.
