The Guide was founded on a very simple premise: provide Delmarva with an advertising channel targeted to our residents. Over 66 years ago, using a flyer format, advertising was distributed to a variety of retail outlets in the Sussex County area. Local businesses soon learned that this simple, straight-forward advertising method, then known as the Sussex Guide, was very effective. Now, more than 66 years later, that same premise remains true in the digest sized publication distributed and known throughout Delmarva as The Guide.
