I’m the CEO of an outsourced errand platform. We’re developing a services portal and launched a beta version of it two weeks ago.

What challenge were you trying to address with Forthpro Info Solution?

We were looking to build a microservices architecture with multiple components connecting to our portal from the outside. From a process perspective, we had a good notion of how we wanted to approach this, but needed to find a company with good technical expertise that could handle working with large amounts of data and react quickly to changing demands.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our aim was to improve the customer journey and increase engagement. Forthpro developed our website’s frontend and API microservices, taking into account our specific requirements for the interaction with large amounts of data stored in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment.

What is the team composition?

They provided a team of two or three people, which increased to three or five depending on the workload. This included frontend developers, designers, and AWS specialists.

How did you come to work with Forthpro Info Solution?

We looked for vendors on Upwork and had several discussions. Forthpro seemed to be the best choice based on quality, price, and available skillsets.

How much have you invested with them?

The cost of the project was between €30,000–€35,000 ($36,886–$43,034).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them a year ago. We wanted to finish the project in September or October 2017, but it was delayed by four months. We went live at the end of February 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve tracked some measurements of success with the help of our internal CTO. Forthpro adhered to our requirements well.

How did Forthpro Info Solution perform from a project management standpoint?

We had some misunderstandings at times, but this was in part due to a lack of accurate descriptions on our end. At the end of the day, the project went quite well.

We weren’t able to create a testing environment where everything could run in an agile model. We wanted to deploy every new component from the test systems directly to the live systems. This lean infrastructure would allow us to make changes and adopt new processes. Based on it, we could execute tests and make deployments automatically, but it didn’t work out well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were quite flexible to any changes in our requirements. We had some problems with keeping the timeline, but Forthpro tried to finish the work more or less for free during the last two months. They invested in future relations with us, which is a worthwhile comment to give about them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We were satisfied with their performance and we will continue our relationship with Forthpro.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Clients need to remain focused on requirements and timeline planning, which is true for any IT project.

I'm the Founder of Valuehire, we have a SaaS/Cloud based recruitment software and applicant tracking system. We've been in operation since 2012.

We had decided to outsource our product development and needed a partner for that.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goals were to maintain our existing product (bug fixing), develop new features, and perform certain customizations and integrations for our customers.

How did you select this vendor?

We narrowed our list down to 3 vendors and conducted detailed technical phone interviews with each to assess their technical and communication skills. We also checked their past project history and spoke to a couple of references. We finally chose Forthpro due to their expertise in CakePHP and web development.

Valuehire is a SaaS-based recruitment software with features like CRM, contracts and invoicing, jobs management, reporting, applicant tracking system, dashboard and alerts, candidate database management and search, and user administration. 

What was the team composition?

Our team consists of a few developers.  I interact directly with the technical lead/architect to discuss our requirements.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We reduced our bug list from 54 to 12 bugs within the first 3 months which was commendable as our code was quite complex. Forthpro also removed several notices and warnings which were coming in our code, making it faster and better.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We interact almost daily through phone and messaging, and communication has been easy and we've understood each other from day 1.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They were able to understand our complex product, which we've built over last 5 years, very quickly, and then make changes as per our requirements on a daily basis.

We've been very satisfied with the team's work and hope to continue working with Forthpro team in the months to come.
