Overview of the School Fee Calculator The "School Fee Calculator" was designed as a pivotal tool for parents and guardians, aiming to assist in the financial planning of children’s education—a crucial concern in today's high-cost educational landscape. Unlike tools aimed at educational institutions, this calculator was specifically tailored to meet the needs of families, helping them to forecast and manage long-term schooling expenses. 

• Fusion’s role was crucial in translating this vision into a functional and user-friendly product, serving as the core feature of the initial website. Scope Fusion utilized their expertise to deliver a product that met the specified requirements and provided meaningful service to the end-users. Front-End Website Development The front-end of the website was developed based on designs supplied by us. 
• The team was responsible for creating responsive and visually appealing layouts that aligned with the provided design specifications. 
  • Front-End Calculator Tool Development: The core feature of the project, the development of the calculator tool, required careful implementation in accordance with the detailed requirements provided, ensuring accuracy and user-friendliness. 
  • Back-End Development: This phase included the creation of APIs, database design, and the development of the logic that powered the front-end calculator. Robust and scalable solutions were crucial to support the functionality of the calculator. 
  • Hosting Environment and Deployment: Fusion provided recommendations for a suitable hosting environment, which included specifications, setup, and deployment of the release code to ensure optimal performance and security. 
  • Database Management: Consideration Although a formal content management system was considered likely out of scope due to budget constraints, a mechanism for database updates—including edits and updates—was devised and provided. This enabled ongoing maintenance and adjustments as necessary.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The MVP not only met but exceeded our expectations, functioning flawlessly while remaining within budget and on schedule. The only delays encountered were from our side, which speaks volumes about Fusion Tech's punctuality and project management prowess. The level of polish on the MVP has been so high that our testers have expressed interest in sharing it within their networks. We are now confidently proceeding to launch the full, hosted version of the product.

Fusion Tech’s project management was exemplary, characterized by professionalism, precision, and proactive communication, especially noted in our interactions with Anton, the Project Manager. Despite time zone differences, their responsiveness and availability were outstanding, making the entire process smooth and enjoyable. Their inclusive pricing model, devoid of hidden costs and full transparency on spec changes, was particularly commendable.
However, the use of multiple communication channels sometimes led to oversight and slight delays. Streamlining communication could further enhance their already impressive service delivery.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Fusion Tech came with an impeccable reputation, and they rapidly developed an insightful engagement with our project's needs. They stood out due to their detailed questioning, rapid grasp of complex and subtle project rules, and their ability to offer sound technical advice upfront. 
The work was meticulously planned and executed, encompassing a Javascript/Node.js/postgres DB architecture, which included a custom front-end data visualizer, API development, backend logic, database integration, and rigorous implementation of business rules.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Fusion Tech could have done differently?

The only area for improvement would be the management of project communication channels. Correspondence was dispersed across multiple channels, including email, Slack, Figma comments, and Google Doc comments. This sometimes resulted in delays or overlooked details (and primarily at my end). However, this is a typical challenge in multi-channel projects, and Anton was notably adept at minimizing redundant communications and ensuring that critical information was not missed. Streamlining the communication channels could further enhance the efficiency and clarity of the project management process.
