Fingo has provided us with front- and backend developers who are working on our product’s features. Beyond development, they also advise on our software architecture and code quality. They’re building new features weekly.

Our web-based platform has an onboarding template, various dashboards, and third-party API integrations. It can share and capture data from multiple documents. It also has distributed ledger technology (DLT) integration to ensure Blockchain compatibility.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Fingo delivers features within the timeframe that we’ve requested. We’re also very happy with the quality of their code. 

How did Fingo perform from a project management standpoint?

Fingo’s communication is great, and they’re very involved with our team. We’re delighted with our partnership. We collaborate through Slack and Visual Studio; we have daily stand-up meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We use complex concepts and advanced systems, and Fingo has the capabilities we are looking for. They’re also very proactive when dealing with problems, and they work without too many slowdowns. They’ve even pushed me to implement new practices and better policies.

I have worked in the past with Fingo in my previous company. And it was already a successful collaboration. I suggested it to my current organisation and we have added them to our assessment list. Our criterias were based on security, compliancy, skillset and domain knowledge. And Fingo has successfully met all those criterias.

To produce intuitive and highly consumable APIs. We fulfill this goal not only by building the API itself but also by contributing to resources that will help developers most effectively leverage the API, such as documentation.

We are working with 3 backend developers full time. They are all skilled in API, and software development technologies related.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The first contribution of the team has been to refactor an important integration and improve it, before testing and releasing.

Fingo developers are used to modern and Agile framework. And it was a great addition to our SCRUM team. We have been using the classic software development tools, such as IDE, Confluence, Jira, GitHub and Slack for the communication.

They are highly committed and reliable. They have been integrated to the rest of the product development department without any issue. I would definitely recommend them.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I don't really have anything in mind. We are all very happy with them.

We are an advertising company, and I work in the digital department. We do customer-specific software development for various big brands.

We needed someone to provide us additional staffing so we could deliver software on time.

What was the scope of their involvement?

When we brought FINGO on, we were close to the kick-off of a major project, and we needed help on the development side. Upon negotiating the terms and getting them onboarded, we fully integrated a team from their side into our internal development team. The resources they bring are experts in the primary stacks that we use in our own software development, like Vue.js. 

What is the team composition?

At the moment, we are working with two developers from their team. The number of developers they assign to us depends on the needs of the project. At some point, we worked with four people, and there are plans to extend it back to four and possibly even more. I personally don’t work with them on a day-to-day basis, but we have a project manager in charge of their team.

I was tasked to bring in additional resources. I’ve known them for a long time through a previous employer, and I have a close personal connection to their CEO, so they came to mind. I knew they were reliable and cost-efficient, so I reached out to them, and they were a perfect fit.

We started working in October 2020, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Feedback is overall pretty positive, and our internal team is pleased with the engagement. When it comes to the quality of FINGO’s development work, we have no complaints. Their work is excellent. 

How did FINGO Software House perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Jira to manage projects collaboratively. Their team integrated into our team flawlessly, and working with them has been a pleasant experience. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m most impressed by their solution-oriented approach — there’s never an issue that the team can’t solve in virtually no time. They are very proactively engaged in the project and quickly come up with very feasible solutions. They offer strong work at an attractive price.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don't have anything negative to say, but I wasn't working with them daily, and nothing has come to my attention. As far as I'm concerned, FINGO is doing a good job.

My advice is to challenge them. They're always up to the task.

The application implemented on time works correctly and meets our expectations. It allowed for efficient and timely reporting. Deliverables are of high quality as expected, meet their functional objectives.

Agile, RT (emails), Jira. They have very good project management.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The project was delivered on time. Fingo specialists were available at our every request and solved all our problems. They also clarified doubts and throughout the project, they listened to us and tried to design a solution answering our needs.

Improving the application in terms of validation against the logical scheme, so that it is more clear and the results are easier to find.

I am the CTO at Autodata and we provide automotive technical information to professionally service, maintain, and repair cars, light commercial vehicles, and motorcycles. We are best known for providing the automotive aftermarket with OE manufacturer data and publish this data through our own APIs which other companies integrate to build bespoke consumer and business automotive solutions. We also provide an extensive online Workshop based application for mechanics and technician to access our data in their own workshops.

What were your goals for this project?

To use the skills and capabilities of Fingo to supplement and extend Autodata's own in-house development capability.

Describe the project in detail.

We used Fingo's consultants to deliver a comprehensive API set to allow our data to be consumed by third parties as well as ourselves. Using these APIs we developed a responsive application for automotive mechanics and technicians with a task focussed UX design. Finally we developed a mechanism to manage subscriptions and payments as well as access and enablement to the application plus develop an e-commerce capability.

What was the team composition?

Over the course of our partnership the number of consultants has varied but at it's peak we had around 13 people. Fingo staff were deployed across five Scrum teams in an augmentation model. The numbers within each team was between one and four. Most of these resources were Developers but at least three Test Automation Engineers were also used.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The success of the technology solutions and levels of automation achieved within the company has been pivotal to the company's growth and success. In 2014 the company was acquired by Bowmark and Five Arrows for £143M. On the back of the success of the software solutions developed the company was again sold in 2017 for £340M.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The relationship with Fingo has been a true partnership. They are embedded and part of the Autodata development family and have developed their skills alongside our own. The development practices are identical to our own staff and the had-off of work between the guys and girls is seamless.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was most impressed with their integrity, their professionalism and willingness to learn together. They are exceptionally nice people too.

Are there any areas for improvement?

As a business relationship I cannot think of anything that could be improved.

Initially developed as a specialist health risk assessment (HRA) for use in commercial settings, the Praxis algorithms where developed to meet the most stringent guidelines which lead to them being licensed by a range of companies including Boots and Hearst Publishing.

Praxis went on to develop its product over several years and in 2017 it was awarded a grant by Innovate UK to run a feasibility study based on a highly evolved proposition for the workplace which targets workforce productivity.

The promising results of the feasibility study provided the basis for the ongoing development of the Workwell application and the use of predictive analytics to intelligently address the productivity challenges faced by business today.

For what projects/services did your company hire FINGO Software House?

The project FINGO Software House was contracted to build the Workwell application. Application was designed for use by small and medium sized businesses initially in the UK but in due course internationally.

Companies purchase online subscriprion to the application via credit card transaction they are then able to deploy the service to their entire workforce. Employees are emailed to introduce the Workwell programme and then directed to complete a very detailed questionnaire about their health, wellness and workplace. The application provides each employee with their own personalised Quality of Life Report and Guidance.

The data collected from across the entire workforce is analysed by the Workwell application through a series of transformations and generates a customised set of data points for the organisation in the form of a Productivity Dashboard. The Dashboard provides employers with detailed guidance on the drivers having the greatest impact on productivity and financial performance of their businesses. It highlights summary actions which should be considered in order to make a significant impact on business performance.

What were your goals for this project?

Successful development of the application which could then be tested in the UK market.

It was a greenfield project. FINGO was responsible for designing, implementing, selecting cloud vendor and deploying it, as well as later maintaining the software.

Project was successfully delivered and is now being tested and promoted in the UK.

Our project involved the preparation of a web application for the medical industry. The product was intended to support medical diagnostics and facilitate the doctors' work. Fingo supported us in it with their knowledge and experience.

Four developers joined our team. They supported us in the work that we did for the client with their knowledge and skills.

Our project is ongoing, but we can see a big contribution from Fingo developers. The work goes smoothly and more modules are delivered to the client.

Work on our project is still ongoing, but Fingo developers have found their place in our team, they have a big contribution to the work of Vialutions. The team leaders refer to them as engaged, proactive and creative.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We were impressed with how many skills and initiatives Fingo developers show. Their contribution is really important and you can see it in the whole project.

Are there any areas for improvement?

At the beginning of cooperation, the team must learn how to work. In the case of developers from Fingo it went quickly and efficiently. They got along quickly with team leaders, as well as with developers and testers. The working atmosphere is good and friendly and promotes the development of both sides.

Testfieber.de is a product review aggregator. New products are tested by the experts in the trade press and sometimes evaluated differently. From the average of all test results, we calculate an overall grade, which helps to compare all products. Our leaderboards show the best products at a glance. We collect all test reports from the trade press, every day. We also observe all well-known test magazines in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, for example Stiftung Warentest, Öko-Test, Konsument, CHIP and many more. Every product tested and every test result ends up in our database.

We calculate an overall grade for each product from all reviews of the trade press. This reflects, so to speak, the summarized opinion of all experts. The grade can be between 0 and 100%. The higher this grade, the better the product was rated overall. Based on the overall grades, we create the leaderboards for almost every conceivable product. The leaderboards give a quick overview of the best and worst products in each category. Everything that has ever been tested can be found here. Neatly sorted from "very good" to "poor".

For what projects/services did your company hire FINGO Software House?

Firstly we hired FINGO to support an already existing application and create new features. After some time we asked to rewrite the whole application to PHP Symfony framework and update the frontend with newly created designs that were provided by external designers.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal of the project was to run a commercially successful website and increase the numbers of page views and visitors. To achieve the goal we were looking for professional platform and application support to guarantee performance, scalability and security.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We had known FINGO from a previous cooperation on a different project where we learned to appreciate their reliability and proactive expertise. They were also recommended to us by partners from other companies who also used their services.

The project was complex and implied creation of a new Testfieber.de website, with admin CMS for content management. That included spiders/crawlers that scraped content from different websites, deployment scripts, database maintaining scripts, test pipelines etc.

What was the team composition?

There was no dedicated team for old application, it was supported by different developers that were available at the moment. We were based on standard time and material contract. For creation of the new application there was created a small team of two developers: one PHP developer and one frontend developer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The project was focused on improved usability, better content presentation, higher coding standards and better adaptation of modern web requirements in general. This resulted in an increase of traffic numbers, both organic and Search traffic, and also in higher rates of returning visitors.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We mostly communicated via email/skype. Tasks were described with great details in JIRA. After tasks were created, the developers asked questions (if there were some) and then estimated time required. Work could be started after my acceptance.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We were most impressed by the very high levels of expertise and skills of the team, their continued reliability and their proactive approach to working with us. They were not just writing code, they were genuinely interested in our project and tried to make it a success. It felt more like a partnership instead of a client-vendor relationship.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We were able to increase significantly reliability by resolving the most serious issues and putting stop to growing numbers of hot fixes. Fingo experience allowed us to put in place development processes and meet delivery dates promised to the customers. Additional benefit came with Fingo optimising our use of Azzure which allowed us to reduce monthly costs.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Since we develop the product for ourselves, we decided to keep the project management on our side. We meet regularly on daily basis and we are using Kanban methodology. The whole project management is conducted in Trello. We use Bitbucket as a place for our codebase. The team has no problems with these tools.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Great reliability and dedication. All the Fingo employees I had the pleasure to work with were not only fantastic, passionate professionals but also great people. Their honesty and directness allow us to deal with any issues quickly without creating any collateral damage and save huge amount of time. Creativity and forward thinking on the Fingo's side makes us excited about the future.

Not at the moment. We need to improve long term planning but it is mainly on our end at the moment.
