We engaged Exter Media to manage and improve our paid social performance and website conversion rate. Their scope of work included the management and optimisation of our Meta advertising campaigns, covering campaign structure, audience testing, budget allocation, creative testing, performance monitoring and ongoing optimisation. They regularly reviewed performance to improve customer acquisition cost, return on ad spend and overall revenue efficiency. Exter Media also supported our creative strategy by developing and testing different messaging angles around product benefits, customer pain points, social proof, promotional offers, educational content and UGC-style creatives. Approximately 20–30 new ad creatives were tested each month to identify the strongest-performing concepts and continuously improve campaign results. Alongside paid social, they carried out a detailed CRO review of our ecommerce website. This included analysing our product pages, landing pages, messaging, trust signals, add-to-cart flow and checkout journey to identify areas where potential customers were dropping off. Their key deliverables included ongoing Meta campaign management, creative testing plans, performance reporting, audience and budget optimisation, landing page recommendations, product page improvements, stronger trust and social-proof elements, clearer messaging and practical recommendations to reduce friction throughout the customer journey. As a result of the work, our website conversion rate increased by approximately 43%, paid social CPA decreased by around 34%, paid social revenue increased by approximately 50%, and ROAS improved towards a more sustainable 3–4x range depending on the campaign and testing phase.

The project delivered clear improvements across both paid social performance and website conversion efficiency. Our website conversion rate increased by approximately 43%, demonstrating that the CRO improvements helped convert more of our existing traffic into customers. Paid social CPA decreased by around 34%, allowing us to acquire customers more efficiently through Meta advertising. ROAS improved towards a stronger and more sustainable range of approximately 3–4x, depending on the campaign, product margins and stage of testing. Paid social revenue also increased by around 50%, supported by improved campaign structure, more effective creative testing and stronger landing page performance. Overall, the work helped us generate more revenue from both our advertising spend and existing website traffic while creating a more efficient and scalable acquisition system.

The team established clear priorities, maintained regular communication and kept us informed about campaign performance, testing activity and recommended next steps. Deliverables were completed on time, including campaign launches, creative testing, performance reviews and CRO recommendations. They were also flexible when priorities changed or when performance data indicated that budgets, messaging or creative direction needed to be adjusted. The team responded quickly to our questions and feedback and took the time to understand our products, customers and commercial goals. Rather than applying a fixed approach, they adapted the strategy based on our needs and the results of ongoing testing. Overall, they were responsive, reliable and easy to work with throughout the project.

What stood out most was Exter Media’s unique system for combining paid social, creative testing, and CRO rather than treating each area separately. Their approach was structured, data-led and focused on improving the entire customer journey, from the first ad impression through to purchase. We were also particularly impressed by their transparency and honesty. They communicated clearly about what was working, what was not working and where further testing was needed, without overpromising results. Their recommendations were practical, commercially focused and always based on the available data. This made them feel like a genuine extension of our team rather than simply an external agency.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Exter Media could have done differently?

Overall, we were very satisfied with the work and did not experience any major issues. One area for improvement would be to provide even more detailed forward planning around upcoming creative tests and CRO priorities, particularly across longer testing periods. As the project developed, having a more visible monthly roadmap showing which creative angles, audiences and website improvements would be tested next could have made internal planning even easier. However, the team was always responsive when we asked for clarification and adapted quickly whenever priorities changed.
