Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the VP of an estate company that manages a historic house museum and garden.

What challenge were you trying to address with Exploritech, Inc.?

We hired Exploritech for their web development services. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Exploritech developed our website through WordPress, where we could update the site independently. That was important for us because we didn’t want to rely on another organization for such updates. They also configured email addresses and basic internet security features for us. 

The team also worked on the UI/UX design of the website. We had specific requests, but they also made suggestions and brought improvements to the site. Moreover, they created graphic designs, including image collateral. On top of that, their resources create templates for our job application formats and postings. Exploritect also worked with our e-commerce partner to ensure that our website and e-commerce platform were integrated properly.

At present, we’re in an ongoing relationship with them where they occasionally do maintenance-related tasks for us. For instance, they create new web pages that we can’t make on our own. They add content, update technical pages, and do other complicated work. 

What is the team composition?

We work with Scott (President) and two technicians. Scott used to be our main point of contact, but I usually now talk to Doug (VP), who does more of the technical work. 

How did you come to work with Exploritech, Inc.?

We found Exploritech through recommendations, but we also requested bids from five local web design companies. Ultimately, we chose Exploritech. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $50,000–$100,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in November 2016, and the engagement is ongoing. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve had a strict deadline to meet — part of our funding for this project came from a grant — and the Exploritech team has delivered on that deadline. Meanwhile, the new website is a huge improvement from our old one. They’ve also taken feedback from our internal stakeholders to ensure that their requirements are conveyed properly through the site. Exploritech works well with a lot of chefs in the kitchen, so to speak. 

How did Exploritech, Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

Exploritech’s project management has been excellent. We haven't had issues with them, and they continue to go above and beyond to make sure that the website looks good. To communicate, we use emails and phone calls — we always get responses within a couple of hours. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They create websites that are easy to maintain, especially for nonprofits and cultural organizations. They build efficient websites for this niche. Apart from that, they also have great and timely communication. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any. They’re a great fit for our organization.

I highly recommend working with Exploritech.
