We’ve been working with Evolvice since 09/2021. The intention was to create a dedicated nearshore hub in a shorter period than in Germany, as well as save costs and expenses for development.

After 2 years we are currently working with a team of 10 specialists that are augmenting our teams. Our cooperation reached “routine” mode, all topics are now settled, and we keep reaching our goals. Communication and administrative support are very quick.

Together with Evolvice we conducted a profound recruitment process to find top-notch specialists in Backend and Frontend development, as well as other technical support fields.

At the beginning of cooperation, we were willing to gather all nearshore colleagues in the office. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out for us, however, we also understand that nowadays people are keener to work remotely all over the world.

Evolvice team has been very helpful and flexible in organizing business trips for the hired specialists for them to be able to travel to our customers on-site.

Unfortunately, it took us more time than expected to align on the quality and volume of the profiles and required engineers, however, we understand that we are working with high-level positions. Once found a common ground, we managed to create a stable and productive process

I’m the managing director of Ex-Trade. It’s a member-owned European trading company in the food industry.

Our IT system was difficult to update, so we needed a new one built.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The first project was to change responses to the old system. Then, they developed a new IT platform from scratch. We collaborated, and they advised on features and expansion of IT over digital processes. 

The platform is used by members to trade. There is an option to display their things and keep track of their trading in comparison to other members. 

They also developed a mobile trading app, for iOS and Android. Users can access the trading platform from their mobile devices.

There was a project manager. 

How did you come to work with Evolvice GmbH?

I spoke to other companies that were referred to me, but they couldn’t do the job. They directed me to do a more specific Google search, and I found this team. I met with them, and it was a good fit.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about €140,000 (approximately $153,000).

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together in summer 2013, and the relationship is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We didn’t have any tracking in place, they just worked as if they were our internal team. Feedback from users has been positive, they like the layout and ease of use. There also haven’t been many errors. The team worked efficiently and were responsive.

How did Evolvice GmbH perform from a project management standpoint?

They performed well and provided good feedback. They responded well to changes. There were some deadline issues, but we always found a solution. We communicated via Skype. The project manager understood the project quickly, and was always ahead of me, which I liked.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re a young, intelligent team that works efficiently. They’re professional, and they work to build good relationships with their clients. It’s an easy collaboration.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We had to change our contact person in the middle of the project which was difficult, but it happens.

They also need to consider the user side when they develop more than they do. However, they have made improvements in this area.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Meet with them in person to explain the project, get to know them, and hear their input. They have more than one office.

Evolvice was hired to provide full-stack-developers to the project. Beginning with a good range of develpoers Evolvice did a good job even before starting the project. We got exactly the tech-stack we needed. The goal was to develop a backend-software to manage all reservations and also to have an app/plattform from where bookings are possible. One of the main challenges are to connect our IoT-Devices to the system. We have now a system which is running not only very stable, but is also very successful. Evolvice is now responsible for maintanence and ongoing development of new features.

As we are working in the Fintech domain, our projects may interfere with some of the cultural aspects in Egypt. Nevertheless, we managed to find a great resource in a short time. Adapting to the higher number of public holidays in Egypt compared to Europe was initially a challenge, but our engineers have shown flexibility in accommodating project requirements.
