We needed help with web development for one of our clients.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We provide the background API and they developed the frontend of the web platforms. They’re for bringing companies and influencers together: there’s one platform for the companies and one for the influencers.

eSparkBiz developed both using AngularJS, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. The influencers sign up on the platform and give details of what they do and what they like. The advertiser can look and search for the influencers.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’m very satisfied. Normally the quality is good, though sometimes it’s not.

All in all, the project is great. Once it’s finished, we want to do more work with them.

How did eSparkBiz Technologies Pvt. Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve tried other overseas companies but had communication issues. With eSparkBiz Technologies, the communication is always good.

Chintan and I work well together. His response time is very fast—usually five minutes after I ping him on Skype.

In the beginning, we had a weekly general discussion. Now, I have more contact with the developers directly, so Chintan does a lot less. I write tickets through GitLab and talk to them. It’s more technical in focus, and less project management, but it works well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The response time and communication are good.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Overall, we’re very happy with them. The code quality could be improved but I don’t believe it reflects on the company in general—it depends on each person. The advertiser platform is nearly perfect. It’s only on the other portal where there are sometimes issues.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

We have an advantage because we read the code they deliver us and do our own code reviews. Sometimes we tell them to make changes, so I think that process is important.

I’d tell other customers to give them a try. They’re very honest, and always give us estimations and prices.

I started by giving them guidelines and instructions regarding the images and text on the old website. They then wrote a crawler to sweep the former website and analyzed the data produced. While importing articles onto the new site, they added redirects from the old site because its URL structure was incompatible with WordPress’s.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to produce landing pages we were proud of. We don't have a full-time developer and while there are a ton of possibilities with HubSpot landing pages, they require a coder's touch so they look presentable across all platforms.

I searched online and had another company in mind, but eSparkBiz's rates were way better. I was also considering hiring a freelance coder, but when I came across eSparkBiz, I knew they were going to be much more professional.

We originally hired them to turn a PSD mockup into a recruitment landing page, and they over delivered! It has awesome features that we didn't even ask for, such as a rolling number that displays how many clients we’ve served and how many designs we have created. We developed a  relationship with them and worked together until June.

I developed the ideas, my designer created the PSD files, and then eSparkBiz brought them to life!

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

eSparkBiz delivered for us multiple times! We’ve had an increase in leads, new clients, and recruitment prospects, as well as successful promotions thanks to all of their support.

Not only do they create beautiful landing pages but make it super simple to adjust and reuse these landing page templates for plenty of purposes. We've used them us for everything from flash sales to recruitment and everything in between.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

I handled this aspect, though they were super effective at managing their time. I'd give them an idea and they’d have it ready in about a week’s time depending on how much design work went into it.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their turnaround time is incredibly fast! If the landing page was simple, I could expect it to be done in a couple of hours. They were also receptive to feedback and quickly implemented it.

Are there any areas where they can improve?

There is a language barrier, but it hasn’t really affected our overall communication.

I'm the owner of a B2B online marketing agency based in Southern California. We provide website designing services, SEO, and creative writing for original content. We also offer reputation and social media management for clients.

What challenge were you trying to address with eSparkBiz Technologies?

I engaged them initially to create an app for one of my clients who was expanding his business. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They created an app from scratch that's available on iOS and Android devices. The app helps a client of mine—an emergency electrician—engage more easily and immediately with his clients. He deals in the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors so they designed three separate buttons that provided activity specific to each sector. From there, users can access a calendar to request appointments, my client gives immediate feedback and assigns someone to the job—they show up within two hours if it's an emergency—and through the app, he provides staggered pricing dependent on how far he has to travel. Those functions, especially the staggered pricing, are not something very common in the industry and through the app they are user–friendly and have a great appearance.

We picked out initial images to use for the app, and they used those along with others they found that matched the look and feel we were trying to achieve. That wasn't something that we asked them to do lines that carry the same kind of look and feel and that's something I did not ask them to do but they knew that the additional pictures would be something that positively added to the app.

They have also helped us with custom website design. I now consider them my go–to people for site and app design, development, and maintenance.

I've dealt with our project manager, two programmers, and the owner. I appreciate being able to communicate directly with people that are working on the project as opposed to an intermediary.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

When my client first looked at the app they created, he immediately responded and said that he thought it was beautiful. He loves it.

They take initiative and make design enhancements that exceed expectations. In one instance, for a complex custom site, they created a WYSIWYG menu on the backend. This was a far better and much more efficient solution than what the previous programmer had developed. eSparkBiz's solution was very elegant, easy to use, and something that nobody else had thought of.

How did eSparkBiz Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated through Skype and email. With Skype, we are able to discuss projects while sharing the screen enabling us to go through the app in great detail, which shows me how conscientious they are in regards to meeting our expectations. The people I've interacted with are easy to work with, respectful, polite, fun even, and responsive. Any of my questions or requests are answered within days if not moments. The project has been practically seamless.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They're responsive, conscientious of the quality of their work, and actively communicative. They take the initiative to suggest innovative design changes, and their pricing has helped me maintain flexibility and competitiveness. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

While communicating with Skype has distinct advantages and is very personal, it would be nice to have a communication portal. Having a common communication interface would empower me to check on the project status without having to reach out to them and interrupt what they are doing.

For any vendor, I would advise using universal terminology and defined expectations to make sure everything is as clear as possible and to minimize rework.
