I’m the CEO of a conservation startup related to going green, collecting waste, and processing biomass.

What challenge were you trying to address with EmerX Services Private Limited?

We were already doing it physically, but we were looking to expand and get an online presence and have a mobile app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They developed our iOS and Android app. We had an initial sharing call to give them the requirements and they did the UI/UX design and development.

The app allows users to register, add their details, location, and timing for us to do the collection. We did test points/updates with a point of contact twice a week to see what it how it was going to look like. The beta was then published to the app stores for us to try. We originally planned to launch the app, but we couldn’t due to COVID-19. The physical part of the work wasn’t getting done and we’re just waiting for the pandemic to be over.

What is the team composition?

The initial call was with an app expert, and we had a video call with the team that was going to work on our project — we had a main point of contact who worked with us throughout the project.

How did you come to work with EmerX Services Private Limited?

I had worked with someone else before and the product they delivered wasn’t good. The first call with EmerX Services Private Limited was great — they explained everything in great detail, even the things we weren’t aware of like what’s important in the app store and what Google, Facebook, and Apple checks. They were very thorough, gave a lot of information without charging us, and they wanted us to be comfortable with the product they delivered — their rates were also good.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested $70,000 on the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January-July 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They were great from start to finish. They sent us a demo version of the app and screen captures of how the app will look — and they were willing to redesign them. Some of the developers might be offshore, but their turnaround was great as we didn’t have to wait for anything. We have a good feeling about the product they delivered — we’ll see when it finally launches.

How did EmerX Services Private Limited perform from a project management standpoint?

Our contact person made sure he was present in all the calls. They were very communicative and provided consistent status updates despite the pandemic, and we never suffered any issues with the project management. We used MS Office products and Zoom to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication is the best. They consistently update us on the status and progress of the project and we don’t even have to ask for them. If something goes wrong, they inform us ahead of time — the product they delivered also looks good, and it speaks to the quality of their development.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It took a little longer because of the pandemic but everything was perfect.

I sugges you go for it. Listen to them, explain your ideas in detail, and they will come back with great ideas.
