Ecommerce and growth marketing work is being carried out simultaneously. On the one hand, a new website was developed from e-commerce and right now we are in instances of site automation. In terms of growth marketing, support was given to the ecommerce project, but also social networks, internal communications, design of advertisements for magazines, programs, events and also integral collaboration with the brand's image and tone of voice strategy are managed.

On the one hand, the different deliverables or tasks that we were concluding in the ecommerce project and in terms of growth marketing, all the design, strategy, advice and management tasks that are carried out day by day.

The project is comprised of the development of a platform that meets the functionalities of Institutional Website (CMS) + eCommerce (B2B2C) + Client Panel (self-management area where shifts are requested to carry out studies, results, invoices and main channel of communication to inform payments or communicate with the company) + Integration with ERP and HIS, both on premisse. Finally, a management backoffice area, where the business rules are established and the platform is managed. The entire project mounted on AWS with autoscaling and high availability features.

Yes, reinforce the importance in the preparation of the pre-project. Dedicate 1 or 2 months to survey, documentation and estimation tasks.

What challenge were you trying to address with eCloud Solutions?

One of the largest issues that we have in Argentina is recycling and how we handle all the waste. Our company started using plastic products in 2020, and because of that, we needed plastic to recycle. We were struggling to find plastic, so we decided to build recycling stations for people to dispose of their plastic, and we wanted to add an application to help with that process. 

We needed to design an app that would be helpful for our customers; we have a complex project that involves reaching out to people to help them recycle their plastics. We needed some accountability for the weight of the plastic we collect and to use the app as a platform to communicate.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The app works for desktops, with an administration platform where we can register a customer's ID and weigh the amount of plastic they bring in. The mobile app keeps track of the amount of plastic recycled. Key technologies included Flask, and the app is compatible with Android and iOS. The app has been completed, but we are waiting for a few more guidelines before launching. 

What is the team composition?

We work with 5–8 people from eCloud Solutions; our primary contact is a project manager, but we also work with a front- and backend developer and a team of about three people responsible for the design.

We’ve invested around $27,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in February 2022, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We don’t have any clear metrics because the app has not been launched yet, but we don’t have a lot of experience with developing apps, and they really guided us through the process. We’ll definitely go back to them for any development work in the future. 

How did eCloud Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

eCloud Solutions stays within timelines, and any time there is a holdup, it’s not their fault. They’re transparent about the hours they work and what they’re doing on their end. However, we wish there was more of an explanation of the technical side of the process. We don’t have tons of development experience, so we’ve sometimes struggled to understand what they’re saying to us.

During the middle of our engagement, we realized we weren’t aligned on where some of the hours were going, and we had no idea why that was. At that point, we wish they would have explained things to us more clearly. As a general overview, however, the management was effective. We use Jira and Confluence for project management and ClickUp for tracking hours. We normally communicate with Google Meet. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Any time we have to make changes, they’re incredibly flexible, even if that means having to change the coding and definitions. They always try to engage with us, and they’re great people to work with. They listen and understand where we’re coming from, and that’s really helped with our relationship. eCloud Solutions has treated the project with respect, and they align with our desire to make a positive impact. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

We did a workshop with them, and while we think it was very helpful, there were still some miscommunications. We think it would be beneficial for eCloud Solutions to make sure that they're aligned fully with future clients.

Really lay out what you have and ensure you have a clear scope so you’re not going back and forth.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Previously, we had difficulty exchanging information about leads with our sales team; our customers showed discontent. This changed because of the changes that eCloud made — our clients received information directly through their WhatsApp accounts. This helped us improve our customers’ overall satisfaction. 

How did eCloud Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

For scheduling, we established a number of meetings. eCloud’s communication was great. They understood our needs clearly from the beginning, so our engagement worked truly well. We used Basecamp as a project management tool. They also used a PRM system. We had direct communications with them via emails and Google Meet. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were focused on their work. It was important for me to be clear on the technicalities of what would be changed. In the past, the solutions delivered to us didn’t respond to the issues we had. By contrast, eCloud showed that they were experts in what they did. 

On top of that, they were flexible and completely open to our requests, ensuring that the deliverable met our expectations. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

In the beginning, we weren’t clear on how the process would unfold. Nonetheless, eCloud was great at understanding the process and explaining it to us. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be as clear as possible when explaining your needs. Provide eCloud with as much information as you can, and they’ll make the best of your project.

We needed to develop the application that allows the final consumer to buy and withdraw through our PaaS, allowing our partners to remotely manage purchases and stock and us as a startup to manage the platform centrally.

We contacted them thanks to a reference contact. After analyzing several providers, given that our pillars as a startup are focused on the consumer and the sustainability of the environment, in addition to offering us competitive costs, we decided to choose them.

The first thing was to identify at the business level what we needed through a discovery workshop. Once workflows and the points of contact with the different participants had been identified, the development planning began. In the scope it was important to go to market as quickly as possible to test the solution. We needed the web platform to manage the administration, partner's e-commerce and the display in the product.

In a matter of months we already had the MVP to test it in the market, allowing us to test the solution both on the partner side and on the end consumer, obtaining valuable insights on how to adapt our commercial proposal to expand.

Communication was excellent. We were aware of everything that was done, the deliveries were fulfilled and they responded quickly. We mostly used Slack and Clonfluence.

I think that at the beginning the documentation of the application could have been better, but it has improved a lot over time.

We needed a partner to help us develop the app for our core solution, which is a bicycle rent platform. The app is a key part of our services, so it was a very important project.

What was the scope of their involvement?

eCloud Solutions have contributed to developing our platform's back- and frontend. They created the app for Android and iOS, and a web platform also supports it. They also help us with improvements and constant support for the app.

The system allows us to manage the lock and unlock of bicycles. From the user side, it will enable them to buy subscriptions, report faults, consult availability and real-time maps, and book trips, among other things. It also allows us to create reports and manage users.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We measure success by the quality of the deliverables and the number of system crashes occasionally occurring. Still, our platform has never become inoperant or gone down. Also, they never deviated more than 10% from the originally estimated budget. 

How did eCloud Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

They're great; we work with agile methodologies with sprints every two weeks, their communications are constant and fluid, and they meet every deadline timely. Regarding tools, we use ClickUp, Slack, and Basecamp.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We like that their technical knowledge is very versatile; their developers have a lot of skills and manage different technologies. Hence, their value offer is superior to other agencies in the market.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We never had any issues working with them; there was a time when the project manager assigned wasn't the best for us, but they solved that.
