I’m the founder of a clothing company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Eccentric Domain?

We needed a developer. Our website was on OpenCart, and we required fixes on the platform. Then, we decided to rebrand and move it to Magento.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Eccentric Domain migrated our website from OpenCart to Magento. They did some minimal design work; we collaborated with them to get the look we wanted.

We just worked with one main developer.

We got them off of Toptal.

We spent around $12,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from October 2019–December 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Everything about the website is better, and it has to do much with the Magento platform.

How did Eccentric Domain perform from a project management standpoint?

We used Basecamp for project management and communicated through emails and phone calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were great at coding and understanding how code works. Also, if I could do something myself, they showed me or sent me screenshots to teach me how to approach the problem. I asked them to show me how to do it because I didn’t want to keep returning to them, and they were great about teaching me when it seemed appropriate.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They weren’t as organized as they could’ve been. At the time, they were a little new to the game, so there were some communication issues around budgeting and delivery. They needed additional payments because the project scope became bigger. I hope they’re doing better right now.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a clear idea of what you want to accomplish. They’re great about doing what needs to be done, but you have to have a fair amount of hands-on involvement and direction.
