Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the business development manager for a manufacturer of helicopter accessories, anything from VIP seat kits to special emission equipment. I focus on developing new products and expanding our market.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with EBIZPLATFORM?

In order to globalize our business, we decided to take an e-commerce approach for our website. We wanted to develop a site and database where shoppers in Asia, for example, could have their orders processed despite the time difference.  

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Over the years, EBIZPLATFORM has created an ERP system and a centralized database which allows for the movement and management of different products. Some of its functionalities include inventory updates, product approval checks, and customer account management.

Their team also customized the website so that shoppers could filter for helicopter parts by a particular model. On the platform, you can search for a product, find its pictures, view approvals and tech reports, and even start an inventory process.

What is the team composition?

I primarily interfaced with Brian (Co-Founder & VP, EBIZPLATFORM) and Chris (Founder & CEO, EBIZPLATFORM).

How did you come to work with EBIZPLATFORM?

We came across them back in 2012 and decided to go with them because they’d worked with some of our sister businesses. They were tried and true.

How much have you invested with them?

While it’s been many years, the total would come to somewhere between $250,000–$1,000,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since 2012, and it’s an ongoing engagement.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The e-commerce site they’ve created has allowed us to stay up to date in the market. Their team has been able to deliver custom functionalities that have helped us greatly.

How did EBIZPLATFORM perform from a project management standpoint?

They performed well. If there were any delays, it was because they were waiting for us to provide materials. They were reachable by phone or email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were responsive, and they had a vested interest in really helping you when you had an issue. If you reached out to them, they’d take your concerns seriously.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Given that we’re operating in a very niche market that’s also very complex, there was definitely a learning curve. They’ve improved over the years, as they’ve become more familiar with our industry.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure to give your statement of work upfront, and ensure that all requirements are clearly detailed in it.
