Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the cloud architect at Hanover Displays, a global display manufacturer for the transportation industry. We make LED and TST displays for public transit. I’m in charge of migrating legacy software to the cloud.

What challenge were you trying to address with dyrector.io?

In the process of moving our legacy desktop application to the cloud, we realized we needed a partner to help us with DevOps. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

dyrector.io provides ongoing DevOps services to our company. They’re working with our development partners and us on our DevOps. Our development team is building a microservices-based application, and dyrector.io is managing its containerization and hosting through Kubernetes clusters in Microsoft Azure.

How did you come to work with dyrector.io?

Our development partner recommended dyrector.io to us. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The entire project started three years ago, but our ongoing partnership with dyrector.io is about 18 months old. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve already gone through a lot of internal work validation to determine the partnership’s success. dyrector.io has helped us establish development, staging, and production environments. Our software testing has validated all the work from dyrector.io. We’ve just passed the last goal post and are ready to go live with the project.

How did dyrector.io perform from a project management standpoint?

dyrector.io communicates well and is good at staying within budget and timelines. We have a Jira-based ticketing system and have regular operations calls between dyrector.io’s operations team and our validation team. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

dyrector.io’s knowledge of the technologies required to host in the cloud, particularly in terms of security, is awe-inspiring. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think it would be unfair to highlight any flaws at this stage.

Any company looking for DevOps and DevOps security-related expertise should hire dyrector.io.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

On the basis of a recommendation

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

We presented the current running containerized version of our solution and our clients expectation, after some technical meetings the dyrector.io team presented the proposed solution. We started to work together to do small changes to be able to deploy and run in Kubertenes cluster.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

For us the bigges outcome is that we have now a Kubertenes compatible version of our Platform

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We were staisfied with the workflow between the teams. For communication platform Discord was used.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We were fully satisfied with their Microsoft Azure knowledge.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There was challanges with Managed Azure Database for MySQL in the beggining, but the team quickly resolved the issues.
