We needed an app to manage the relationships we have with our poets.  The goal was to streamline our operations, consolidate communication from various apps, and reduce the amount of steps required for each interaction.

The goal was to build an MVP/proof of concept mobile app for beauty influencers and beauty product users. Tomas and John really worked to understand the business case, end users, and what I was trying to accomplish. The integrity of this company was clear when they take time to decide whether they were able to technically deliver on my ask using low-code tools.

I felt lucky to have them come back to me with a full scope on how they could build what I had envisioned. They really wear multiple hats and do it well. From concept to launch, DreamLabs acted as not only the developer, but also a product manager, overseeing every detail from concept development to launch (feature prioritization, user interviews, optimizing user experience, etc).

As a product manager myself, I really appreciated their process driven approach to building an MVP. I have worked with other developers in the past, that make no effort to always have in mind the user and business case. As an entrepreneur, I got excited about adding more features, but they did an outstanding job of keeping me and the project focused on sticking to features that count.

Other developers welcome the opportunity for scope expansion and don’t make the effort to truly understand the problem and DreamLabs was the complete opposite. I am continuing my relationship with them to have them support my app and in the future, develop the app further.

We were able to build a SOLID mobile app that will be used as a minimal viable product to build off of in the future (with minimal scope creep and no hidden costs!)

We hit almost all milestones on time. Any technical setbacks were not in their hands and they did a great job in communicating any issues and re-setting expectations if needed. We were able to communicate via Slack outside our weekly virtual calls so any questions or concerns were addressed real-time.

These guys immerse themselves in the problem statement and really dive in with you to determine the best way to solve the problem using low-code. I appreciated DreamLabs's desire for my product to succeed. Finding a developer you can trust is scary enough for someone who has no technical experience, so I am now a self-confessed Velcro customer of DreamLabs for life!

For each release, they support us with creating user stories, feature specs, lofi wireframes, midfi designs, full-stack development, QA testing and launch.

Use of the app is making a meaningful impact on a critical issue facing this country: lack of licensed child care in poor comunities. The app is being used by economically marginalized entrepreneurs to efficiently get a child care license and learn the essentials of running a home daycare business.

DreamLabs' level of involvement, beyond doing only what was outlined in the scope of development, was most impressive. DreamLabs has been involved in not only the development, but the overall strategy of the app, and how it will ultimately help us reach our specific company goals. 


On top of that, they operate with integrity and transparency. Often times, dealing with developers can feel shady, as a result of confusion and a lack of understanding of the development process. However, DreamLabs is always straightforward and honest about the work they do and the associated cost to do it. I have never felt like I was being taken advantage of. Working with app developers can often times be confusing. Not with DreamLabs.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

There are a number of things. First, their approach to project management and communication are outstanding. I always understood where we were in the project process, they were always accessible when questions did arise, and they brought an important sense of urgency regarding project completion. Secondly, they were careful to understand what I was envisioning and how to make it come to reality. Sometimes this can be incredibly frustrating when working with tech folks, particularly as someone without a tech background. Finally, they were always friendly and collegial. I felt they believed in what I was trying to do and were very patient with my own lack of tech expertise.  I found DreamLabs online and felt they were the missing piece for moving my project forward.

Are there any areas for improvement or something DreamLabs could have done differently?

I do not have much to suggest. Maybe a clearer path in how to continue to work with them moving forward because I do plan to continue.
What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?
Working with a partner as structured and experienced as DreamLabs took a lot of the guess work out and made the process a lot less stressful.
